Postdoctoral Fellow/Senior Research Associate Positions at National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, India

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for filling up of a post of “Post Doctoral Fellow/Senior Research Associate” on adhoc basis for the project entitled “Role of CNS Opportunistic Infections in Subsequent Development of HIV Encephalitis” under Dr.S.K.Shankar, Professor, Dept. of Neuropathology & Principal  Investigator. The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences is a multidisciplinary Institute for patient care and academic pursuit in the frontier area of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences. The Lunatic Asylum which came into being in the latter part of the 19th Century was renamed as Mental Hospital in 1925 by the erstwhile Government of Mysore. This hospital and All India Institute of Mental Health established in 1954 by Government of India were amalgamated on 27th December 1974, and thus was formed the autonomous National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS).
Eligibility: MD (Internal Medicine) or DNB (Internal Medicine) from any reputed Medical Institution/Medical College approved by Medical Council of India
Or MBBS with minimum of 3 years experience in Clinical research in any funded project Or PhD/MSc., in Biological Sciences who has submitted PhD The candidate should have aptitude for research in the field of HIV/AIDS/infectious diseases Experience in Neurohistology, Morphometry and Immunocytochemistry

Postdoctoral Position in Circadian Neurobiology, Denmark

The Department of Neurosc. & Pharmacology, Circadian Research Group, the Protein Laboratory, is seeking a motivated postdoctoral fellow to study the function of the non-image forming system of the brain and the influence of this system on circadian rhythms. The goal is to characterize the involvement of the different photoreceptors in the regulation of the gene expression in the suprachiasmatic nucleus and the secretion of melatonin from the pineal gland by use of histological and molecular neurobiological methods.

The appointee should have qualifications within at least some of the following areas:

1. Molecular biological techniques, e.g. PCR, qRT-PCR, microchip analysis
2. Neuroanatomical techniques, e.g. histology, immunohistochemistry, and in situ hybridization.
3. Rodent neuroanatomy and embryology
4. A phd or equivalent laboratory research background in the above mentioned areas.
