Graca Machel Postgraduate Scholarships for Women, South Africa

Canon Collins Trust manages a scholarship programme on behalf of Mrs Graça Machel. The aim is to provide women from across southern Africa with scholarships that will equip them to take up leadership roles for the benefit of their community.
The Collins Trust announced scholarship for women to postgraduate study in South Africa in 2012.They will provide funding for up to a maximum of one year for Honours, two years for Masters and three years for PhD. Continued funding depends on satisfactory progress and academic reports.
The scholarship covers full tuition fees, medical insurance for non-South African scholars, a stipend towards living costs, a travel allowance and a study resource allowance, payable in the first year of study only.
Eligibility Criteria- Applicants must:
-Be a woman
-Be nationals of or have refugee status in one of the following countries:
Angola ,Botswana , DRC, Lesotho , Madagascar, Malawi , Mauritius, Mozambique , Namibia ,South Africa , Swaziland ,Tanzania , Zambia ,Zimbabwe.       -Be seeking this scholarship for postgraduate study
-At a South African university

Canon Collins Trust invites applications for scholarships for postgraduate study in South Africa in 2012. The trust will provide funding for up to a maximum of one year for Honours, two years for Masters and three years for PhD. Continued funding depends on satisfactory progress and academic reports.
Canon Collins scholarships are not full scholarships and funding depends on the type of course you are doing.  Awards in 2011 ranged from R10,000 to R40,000. Awards in 2012 are likely to be within this range.
Applicants must be nationals of or have refugee status in one of the following countries :Angola , Botswana ,Lesotho , Malawi ,Mozambique , Namibia , South Africa ,Swaziland , Zambia, Zimbabwe. The applicant must be seeking this scholarship for postgraduate study at a South African university.

University of Kent – Paris Scholarship, UK: Humanities, including: Comparative Literature, French and Comparative Literature, Creative Writing, Modern French Studies, Modern History, Postcolonial Studies, English and American Literature, Film Studies

The University of Kent at Paris has a range of unique and innovative cross-disciplinary postgraduate programmes in the Humanities, including: Comparative Literature, French and Comparative Literature, Creative Writing, Modern French Studies, Modern History, Postcolonial Studies, English and American Literature, Film Studies

Combining taught programmes and a dissertation, they allow you to share your year between Canterbury and Paris.

Students applying for a place on any one of the Kent at Paris MA programmes may apply for an award from the Paris Scholarship fund, currently valued at over £5,000.

Candidates must hold a good Honours degree (First or 2.1) or a Master’s degree at merit or distinction in a relevant subject or equivalent. The scholarship is open to all full-time postgraduate applicants. UK, EU and overseas fee paying students are invited to apply.

Candidates must hold an offer of a place for a full-time University of Kent at Paris MA for the 2011-12 academic year.

To be eligible for this studentship, candidates must make a formal application for postgraduate study at the University of Kent. This can be done online at:records.kent.ac.uk/external/admissions/pgapplication.php

Candidates must also send a letter of motivation, not exceeding 1,000 words, stating why they wish to join their chosen Kent at Paris MA programme.
