Social Work Masters Fellowship Program 2011, USA

The Open Society Foundations (OSF), the Columbia University School of Social Work (CUSSW), and the Columbia University Middle East Research Center (CUMERC) are pleased to announce the Social Work Masters Fellowship Program for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The Program is designed to provide social work education to fellows to prepare them to implement reforms, create policies and foster the development of social work in the participating countries. Upon the conclusion of the fellowship, fellows return home to apply their new knowledge in practice. The Program also introduces students from the participating countries to colleagues from other regions of the world and encourages cross-national dialogues among professional communities. Approximately five (5) awards will be granted in 2011.

KM Hatano Scholarships 2011, Australia

Mr Yasuji Hatano, President of Kokusai Motorcars Co Ltd. of Japan, established the KM Hatano scholarships in 1989. Mr Hatano donated $100 000 to encourage students in the pursuit of excellence in academic achievement, leadership and contribution to the Gold Coast community. Up to two scholarships are available for 2011.

Edinburgh Global Master’s Scholarships, UK

Ten scholarships will have a value of £5,000 each while a further twenty scholarships will have a value of £3,000 which will be tenable for one academic year.

Eligibility
The scholarships will be awarded to students who are nationals of countries outwith the EU who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for a postgraduate Master’s programme of study at the University of Edinburgh.

Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so. Preference will be given to candidates who have not already had the opportunity to study in Scotland.

Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, the overseas equivalent of a UK first-class honours degree.
