Scholarship Award in Nigerian Universities at Media Trust Limited

Media Trust Scholarship Scheme for Female  Medical Students

Media Trust Limited (Publishers of Daily Trust, Weekly Trust, Sunday Trust, Aminiya, Kano Chronicle and Kilimanjaro) hereby request applications for its 2010/2011 Academic Session Scholarship Award in Nigerian Universities.

 

Qualification:

To qualify for the Scholarship Award, applicants must fulfill the following conditions:

  • Nigerian
  • Female
  • Medical Student (MBBS)
  • Must be in 200 Level and above and must have passed their examination.
  • Must be a student of

 

1.         University of Ilorin, Kwara State.

2.        Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto State or

3.        University of Maiduguri, Borno State.

 

Method of Application:

Interested students who meet the above requirements are to collect Application Forms from the College Secretary’s Office of their respective Colleges/Faculties, fill appropriately and attach passport, photocopies of Admission letter, I.D Card, Certificate of Origin and Course Registration Form for the current Academic Session.

Dulcie Bowman Scholarship in University of Auckland, New Zealand: Medical

The Scholarship was established to commemorate Miss Dulcie Bowman who died in February 1996. In spite of suffering from a significant hearing disability Dulcie Bowman graduated from The University of Auckland and thereafter pursued a career in teaching. The Scholarship was established in 1996 by Dulcie Bowman’s sister, Miss Alva Bowman, who gifted a capital sum to fund the Award.To encourage hearing impaired women students at either undergraduate or postgraduate levels enrolled in an approved program-me of study at Auckland University.
The Scholarship shall be awarded to a woman student at The University of Auckland who is enrolled part-time or full-time and who has paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, in the second or subsequent year of an approved course of study and who has a hearing disability (the nature of which and the degree of hearing loss needs to be confirmed in writing by a medical practitioner)
The basis of selection shall be academic merit assessed on the first year of university study.
The Scholarship shall be awarded by the Council upon the recommendation of a selection committee comprising the Vice-Chancellor (or nominee), a Dean of one of the University’s Faculties, and the Disabilities coordinator.

University of Auckland Senior Health Research Scholarships, New Zealand: Medical & health science

The main purpose of the Scholarship is to attract health professionals to return to the University to study full-time for a PhD in a health-related area.
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for registration for the degree of PhD as described in the PhD statue and will need to have an appropriate research program-me and provide evidence that it has been accepted by the proposed supervisor and the Head of the Department in which the Research is to be carried out. The University of Auckland Senior Health Scholarship may not be held concurrently with any other scholarship from The University of Auckland unless the University of Auckland Council so approves. To comply with the full-time study requirement in regulation 2, the amount of additional and paid work a Scholar may undertake either inside or outside the University shall not exceed a total of 500 hours in a calendar year. The University of Auckland Council has power to terminate or suspend a Scholarship, if it receives an unsatisfactory report on the progress of a Scholar from the Head of the host Department or Institute.
