Ogilvy Planning Fellowships Programme 2011: Advertising, Direct Communications, Sales Activation and Design

Interested in trends, culture and pyschology? Got a creative and strategic mind? Ogilvy UK is launching its first ever Planning Fellowship – a two year scheme that will deliver training and hands on planning experience in Advertising, Direct Communications, Sales Activation and Design. Planners. The agency catalysts. “The creativity behind the creativity” is how Norwegian Planner Henrik Habberstad describes this fascinating and complex role. “The best job in the world” is how Sarah Newman, APG Chair (and Ogilvy & Mather’s longest standing Planner) puts it. Whatever the definition, Planning is a role for the intellectually curious, lateral, out of the box thinkers and those with an enviable mix of left brain logic and right brain creative skills.
Subsequently, Planning could also be described as a role of contradictions as it’s completely imaginative and completely logical, totally subjective and totally objective, perfectly number-based and perfectly emotion-based.  Planners are happy to talk to business people and creative people and they are driven by the desire to discover.  The two main tasks of the Planner are to be the voice of the consumer and to become experts on the clients business.
