Argentina Scholarships

Road2Argentina offers merit based and financial need based Argentina scholarships for our semester, volunteer, Spanish immersion, and internship programs.

Argentina Scholarships offered per year:

(2) $1000 need-based scholarships for Argentina immersion programs.
(2) $500 merit-based scholarships for Argentina immersion programs.

To apply for one of our Argentina scholarships, fill out and return our Argentina Scholarship Application Form and meet the scholarship requirements as outlined below.

Criteria for our scholarships for Argentina:

  • Must be accepted to a Road2Argentina program
  • Having a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Submission of a completed scholarship application.
  • Submission of a personal statement. Written essay in English or Spanish (400 – 500 words) or Online video, 2 minutes or less, topic of your choice.
  • Submission of an academic transcript
  • Submission of a letter of recommendation
  • For need based scholarships: submission of a government issued financial aid statement

Application Deadline for Scholarships for Argentina:

April 15: for programs taking place from June-December

November 30: for programs taking place from January-May

Argentina Scholarship Selection process

Applicants who meet the Argentina scholarship criteria will have their application reviewed by our selection panel. Winners will be notified 3-4 weeks after the application deadline.

The Adelaide Postgraduate coursework Scholarship

Up to six scholarships may be available to outstanding international students who are citizens of Indonesia, Korea, Thailand or Vietnam to undertake a postgraduate degree by coursework in any academic discipline. Benefits are payment of 50% tuition fees for up to two years, subject to satisfactorily performance.

Application Process

For students seeking a scholarship for postgraduate coursework study commencing in 2011, a separate application process for scholarships will be required.

The scholarship application process will require completion of an online form.

Applicants will be required to have already received a current unconditional offer of admission to the University of Adelaide to be considered for a scholarship.

Students wishing to apply for a scholarship should lodge their application for admission by 1 September 2010.

Students with a conditional offer of admission must have demonstrated that they meet all the conditions of their offer, and have received acknowledgement from the International Office that their offer is unconditional, before lodging an application for a scholarship.

Applications for students commencing their primary academic program in Semester 1 2011 will open in on Monday 11 October 2010

The UCT/CSIR Scholarship programme for South Africa Students

Job Description: Applications are invited for a limited number of scholarships for South African students who will register in 2011 at the University of Cape Town for the Honours, Master’s and Doctoral degrees, within the following disciplines, or in closely related disciplines:

Information and Communication Technologies
Environmental Technologies
Engineering
Materials Science and Manufacturing
Mathematics
Natural & Physical Sciences
Biosciences

Eligibility
Only students who register as full-time students and who are proceeding into the FIRST year of the degree are eligible. Students who will register in 2011 for a 2nd year of Masters or 2nd or 3rd year of PhD are INELIGIBLE. Only students who will register for study in one (or more) of the areas of study shown above are eligible.

Value of Awards
Honours – R60,000; Masters – R70,000; Doctoral – R80,000 per annum

Tenure
Honour’s – strictly 1 year; Master’s – 2 Years – Second year renewable on proof of satisfactory progress, and Doctoral – 3 Years – Second and third years renewable on proof of satisfactory progress.
Please Note: Renewals are NOT guaranteed and will depend on the availability of funds and academic progress.

(1) Academic Merit. The Scholarships will be granted on the basis of academic merit.
Applicants must have achieved at least 60% for their final undergraduate majors or the Honour’s degree)

Application Procedure
1. A letter of application addressed to the Director of the PGC&FO, UCT and a completed Application Form available from the Postgraduate Funding Office or from URL: http://www.uct.ac.za/apply/funding/postgraduate/applications/

2. A one A-4 page CV giving the future intentions of the applicant.

3. 2 letters of reference from academics who have taught/supervised the applicants in the past three years

4. All original or certified copies of university transcripts (do not include certificates), including those of the applicant’s undergraduate degree(s).

5. Proof of acceptance of the student into the proposed academic department, in the form of a brief letter/statement from the Faculty Manager.

6. Master’s and Doctoral applicants – A copy of the applicant’s abstract of the proposed study (no longer than ONE A-4 page) and an indication that a Supervisor has been secured and that the research proposal has been accepted by the Department.

7. Applicants must be prepared to enter into a contract with the CSIR in which the student undertakes to enter into employment with the CSIR for at least the tenure of the scholarship held, provided that suitable vacancies exist within the CSIR

8. Short-listed Applicants must be prepared to undergo interviews with officials from the CSIR
