Scholarship Description: The University of Texas at Austin has been invited to nominate qualified students to be considered for the scholarship. A committee of faculty and staff will review applications and select up to six nominees for the national competition. The Foundation does not accept applications directly from students.

The Udall Foundation seeks future leaders across a wide spectrum of environmental fields, including policy, engineering, science, education, urban planning and renewal, business, health, justice and economics. The Foundation also seeks future Native American and Alaska Native leaders in public and community health care, tribal government and public policy affecting Native American communities, including land and resource management, economic development and education.

In 2011, the Foundation expects to award 80 scholarships and 50 honorable mentions on the basis of merit to sophomore and junior level college students

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must:

* be a current University of Texas at Austin student with sophomore or junior standing in the 2010-2011 academic year
* study the environment or a related field, or be a Native American or Native Alaskan studying health care or tribal policy.

The Rangel Graduate Fellowship

Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale at the time of application

Fellowship Description: The Rangel Graduate Fellowship is a program that aims to attract and prepare outstanding young people for careers in the Foreign Service in which they can help formulate, represent and implement U.S. foreign policy. Each year, the Rangel Program selects 20 outstanding Rangel Fellows in a highly competitive nationwide process and helps support them through two years of graduate study, internships and professional development activities, and entry into the Foreign Service. This program encourages the application of members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service and those with financial need. Fellows who successfully complete the program and Foreign Service entry requirements will receive appointments as Foreign Service Officers, one of the most exciting and rewarding careers available.

Rangel Fellows are committed to serving their country and promoting positive change globally. Individuals who have successfully completed the Rangel Program are now making a difference in countries throughout the world, including Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Venezuela, South Africa, Nigeria, Angola, China, Korea, Bangladesh, Spain and Ireland.

Scholarship Description: The Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg jointly run the International Max Planck Research School for Optics and Imaging (IMPRS-OPTIM). We are offering PhD Scholarships in Physics and Engineering
Research topics span the range from fundamental optics to applied optics and medical imaging. Involved are the faculties of natural sciences, engineering and medicine.

You’ll need to fill in your details, upload your High-School and university certificates and transcripts, prove your English abilities, write a short motivation letter and give us some argument about your choice of project. Besides, two letters of recommendation are needed.
