Global Health Corps Fellowship for US and International Applicants, USA

Applications for 2011-2012 fellowships are now open! Applicants may choose up to three fellowship placements to apply for. Please check out our Open Placements page for a full list of available fellowships and their descriptions.
Global Health Corps Fellows must:

  • Be under age 30 at the time of application
  • Have an undergraduate university degree by July 2011
  • Be proficient in English

No specific background or technical experience is necessary, as each individual fellowship placement will require different specific skills. Review the fellowship placement descriptions (posted February 1st) to learn about the specific assignments and the skills that our placement organizations are looking for.
For all Fellowships, we value three qualities: strength of character, relevant skills and experience, and leadership.

International Phd Position: Corrosion and Electrochemical Behaviour of Ufg/Ns and Glassy Ti Biomaterials, Germany

The appointment will be on a temporary basis for a maximum period of 3 years (PhD student, regular employment contract).
The remuneration will be in line with the EC rules for Marie Curie grant holders (Early-Stage Researchers, ITN).
Requirements:
The candidate must be fluent in spoken and written English.
The candidate should hold a Masters degree in Materials Science and Engineering or Chemistry and should have experience with experimental research.
Eligibility:
The candidate must have no PhD and less than 4 years’ research experience.
The applicant must not have spent more than 12 months in the country (Germany) of the host/recruiting institution in the 3 years prior to selection.

International PhD Position in Glass-Forming Biocompatible Ti-Based Materials, Spain

The appointment will be on a temporary basis for a maximum period of 3 years (PhD student, regular employment contract).
The remuneration will be in line with the EC rules for Marie Curie grant holders (Early-Stage Researchers, ITN).
Requirements:
Degree- University Master degree in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or Materials Sciences with high grades.
Knowledge and experience in materials science (sample preparation, x-ray diffraction, thermal and microstructural characterisation, etc,), Programming skills, Advanced computer knowledge (Microsoft office, Databases, Image Editors).
Fluent in English. Good Spanish knowledge will be an added-value. Team work ability.
Eligibility:
The candidate must have no PhD and less than 4 years’ research experience.
The applicant must not have spent more than 12 months in the country (Spain) of the host/recruiting institution in the 3 years prior to selection.
