The University of Texas Children’s Art Project Scholarship 2011-2012, USA

This scholarship is offering to present/former pediatric patients of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The scholarships is provided as encouragement, reward and enablement for the students chosen.The scholarship is for one academic year with a requirement that at least 18 hours total are completed for the Fall and Spring semesters. Summers are not counted. Applicants must reapply for scholarship each year and may not receive assistance for more that a total of eight semesters (four years) of study.
The applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 24 for Undergraduate and 21-30 for Graduate. The applicant must be a patient or former patient (before his/her 19th birthday) of The University of Texas M D Anderson Cancer Center. Applicants must have been admitted or plan to study at a United States regionally accredited or International recognized institution for the fall semester.

2011 PhD Position in Human-Computer Interaction at Uppsala University, Sweden

The candidate is supposed to participate in the department’s ongoing research in the field of human-computer interaction (HCI). More specifically, we seek a PhD candidate oriented towards research on post-representational HCI/interaction design, open innovation, and new and emerging digital practices. We seek a PhD candidate interested in doing empirical, theoretical and design-oriented research contributing to the area of HCI. We are also interested in a PhD candidate who seeks to combine areas such as architecture, cultural- and historical studies and design for the purpose of advancing the field of human-computer interaction.

Qualifications: master’s degree (candidates with any suited disciplinary and interdisciplinary background are welcome to apply), excellent command of written and spoken English.

AISES Intel Scholarship for Undergraduate and Graduate Studies, USA: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math

The scholarship was developed by AISES and Intel to support the advancement of AI/AN students with technical and leadership accomplishments, as well as a commitment to and passion for the computer science field. The AISES Intel Scholarship is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship.
CRITERIA Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
1. Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average (GPA).
2. Must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited four year college/university, or a full-time student at a two year college enrolled in a program leading to an academic degree.
3. Majoring in one of the following college disciplines: Computer Science ,Computer Engineering ,Electrical Engineering
*students majoring in Chemical Engineering and Material Science will also be considered.
4. Must be a member of an American Indian tribe or otherwise considered to be an American Indian by the tribe with which affiliation is claimed; or is at least 1/4 American Indian blood; or is at least 1/4 Alaskan Native; or considered to be an Alaskan Native by an Alaskan Native group to which affiliation is claimed.
