POLIS International Research Scholarship 2011-2012, UK: Politics and International Studies

POLIS is offering one fees plus maintenance and one fees only scholarship to Home/EU students taking a POLIS PhD programme. POLIS is also offering one fees only scholarship to international students taking a POLIS PhD programme. Small amounts may also be awarded as partial fee waivers to excellent candidates who have arranged funds from other sources but who still have a small shortfall. This part of the budget is managed on a case-by-case basis; in previous years we were able to help several outstanding students to enrol in the School.  Please ensure that you use the space provided on the form – attachments are not permitted and all will be disregarded.  In order to be eligible to apply for one of the above POLIS Postgraduate Research Scholarships, applicants MUST first submit a research degree study application form and be in receipt of a University BANNER ID number.  Applications without a valid University Banner ID number will be rejected. Eligibility: Applicants whose first language is not English are required to meet the School’s minimum English language requirement, which is an IELTS score of 6.5 with no individual component below 6, or 240 on computer-based TOEFL (580 on the paper-based version), with 4.0 on the essay rating (4.0 on the Test of Written English associated with the paper-based version), or 94 on TOEFL iBT, with minimum scores of 20 in listening, 23 in reading, 23 in speaking and 24 in writing, or a PTE Academic score of at least 64 (with not less than 60 in listening, reading, speaking and writing).

University of Liverpool Graduate Association offers Scholarship for Undergraduate Studies

Eligibility
1. A number of undergraduate scholarships shall be awarded to academically outstanding students originated from Hong Kong/China who have been admitted to pursue full-time undergraduate studies leading to a bachelor degree in their chosen fields in the forthcoming academic year at the University of Liverpool. The students are responsible for their own admission application and must submit proof of acceptance for admission to the University at the time of application to the Graduate Association.
2. Current students originating from Hong Kong/China who are already in their first or second year of undergraduate studies at the University of Liverpool at the time of application are also eligible to apply for the Scholarship. The students must submit, in addition to other relevant documents, a supporting letter from their academic tutor.
3. Successful candidates may be awarded a scholarship to cover either full or partial payment of the annual tuition fees. Or a living allowance may be awarded if deem appropriate. The scholarship may or may not be held concurrently with any other scholarships or bursaries at the discretion of the Award Committee. Each scholarship shall be tenable for a period not exceeding three years and renewal is subject to satisfactory report and good academic performance on an annual basis.

4. Scholarship applicants including those seeking for renewal should submit their applications directly to the Graduate Association not later than 31st of May each year using the prescribed form UG-AF1 via email to Prof. John Yeung (email address: scholarships@liverpooluga.com.hk ). Applicants will then receive a Reference Number from the Graduate Association within one week.
5. Relevant supporting documents such as acceptance letter from the University of Liverpool (applicable for prospective first year student only), certified copies of certificates and transcripts, curriculum vitae, etc together with a copy of the original application form bearing the Reference Number must then be submitted to the Graduate Association by post before 30th of June.
6. Applicants might be invited for an interview and the result will be announced before end of August

TWAS-IACS Postgraduate Fellowship Programme 2011: Theoretical physics,Condensed matter physics,Spectroscopy,Materials science,Non-conventional energy,Physical chemistry,Organic chemistry,Inorganic chemistry,Biological chemistry,Polymer science

TWAS-IACS Postgraduate Fellowships are tenable at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) for a period of up to four years for studies leading to a PhD degree. IACS will provide a monthly stipend to cover living costs, food and health insurance. The monthly stipend will not be convertible into foreign currency. The language of instruction is English.
Applicants must observe the IACS academic calendar, which starts in April each year, and be ready to start their Fellowship on the first day of classes/ courses.
Eligibility Criteria: Applicants for Fellowships must meet the following criteria:
-be a maximum age of 30 years on 31 December of the application year;
-hold a Master’s degree in a field of natural sciences;
-be nationals of a developing country (other than India);
-provide an official Acceptance Letter from a department of the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS);
-provide evidence of proficiency in English.
