Postdoctoral Positions in Information Security/Cryptology at Department of Telematics, Norway

A two year position is open for a postdoctoral researcher in the area of Cryptographic Protocols and Applications at Department of Telematics, Faculty of Information Technology, Mathematics and Electrical Engineering, The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

We seek a highly motivated individual with research specialization in cryptology and network security, in particular research activity relevant to Cryptographic Protocols. The postdoc will be part of the ongoing research activities at the department, which include modelling, construction, analysis and implementation of robust and efficient cryptographic protocols, multiparty computations, voting schemes, and key distribution applied to mobile services and systems. Applicants must hold a doctorate degree, or be in the formal process for attaining this. The applicant should state the earliest possible starting date.

The position is remunerated according to salary code 1352, entry salary level 57-76 on the Norwegian State salary scale. Postdoctoral for project MANTLE RHEOLOGY, France: Micromechanical modeling

The post-doc will be involved in the micromechanical modeling at the polycrystal scale. The aim is to integrate into the polycrystal model slip-system resistances inferred from experimental data, ab initio calculations, and Dislocation Dynamics (DDD). The used polycrystal model will be based on mean-field homogenization methods (self-consistent scheme associated with the “Second-Order” linearization procedure of Ponte Castañeda), although numerical computations from full-field methods could be also performed if necessary. Micromechanical modeling of such material is a challenging task since all mineral phases comprising the upper mantle exhibit an extreme viscoplastic anisotropy at the grain scale, with three or less known independent slip systems. There are many effects to be investigated, important for
both geophysical and material sciences issues, e.g.: strain partition and texture development in multiphase minerals, the rheology of partially melted polycrystals, the introduction of diffusion based mechanisms (such as dislocation climb), etc.
