Eligibility: You must be an international student from a developing country and hold an offer for a full-time Masters degree.

Particular preference will be given to you if you can demonstrate how the knowledge you acquire from your studies will aid the development of your own country.

2011 Master Scholarships for International Students in Politecnico di Milano and POLI.design in Italy

ID4A – Industrial Design for Architecture Politecnico di Milano, first level university Master program organised by the polytechnic’s POLI.design Consortium in collaboration with Giugiaro Architettura.The Master program will be conducted in English. The Master program has been launched in response to the needs of a constantly changing job market, with a strong demand for trained professionals able to operate in contexts other than those typically associated with architecture.
The importance given to practical training and field work means that the ID4A Master program prepares System Designers able to operate on a large scale: from the design of single elements, products or components, to that of complex systems designed to be applicable in different construction contexts. It trains versatile professionals with a flexible mindset enabling them to successfully confront the challenges of global design in the differing national and international realities of the sector.

Research Fellow in Computational Models of Language Acquisition and Processing, Australia

The appointees will work on projects funded by Macquarie University and/or the Australian Research Council involving the development of computational models of language acquisition and on-line sentence processing. The language acquisition research uses non-parametric Bayesian models, which the appointee will be responsible for extending and applying to new domains. The on-line sentence processing research involves the development of an incremental CCG parsing model and using it as a language model in a speech disfluency detection and correction system. The appointees duties include carrying out research and data analysis, developing and extending mathematical models of language acquisition and comprehension, system design and implementation, as well as interacting with our growing research team and collaborating with other group members.
