Scholarships in Master in Business Design at Domus Academy 2011 in Italy

Domus Academy in Milan, Italy, MBD represents a laboratory where designers, managers and entrepreneurs work in synergy on the creation of a new strategic language and operative code for business and market. Business Design is based on the idea that design is at the core of the business and its main driver. The objective of the Master is to train students on how to bring innovation and creativity, quality and effectiveness into products, services and social organizations. The MBD master program working activities are aimed to apply creativity to non-design business context, like systems and organizations, social business, leisure and tourism, consumer goods, food. business innOVATiOn /MbD.

Two scholarships, each of one covering 50% of the total tuition fee of the Master in Business Design at Domus Academy 22.200 euro (euro 18.500 + VAT 20%) These conditions are intended for the Academic Year 2011-2012 (September 2011 – August 2012) only. Every moral or paternity right as to the project remains property of the author. The projects sent to
Domus Academy will not be returned. All the material must be the result of an unpublished work developed by the candidate, not to be used by the candidate in other or previous occasions.

PhD Studentship: The T-Mobile Chair of Mobile Business & Multilateral Security at Goethe University, Frankfurt

To strengthen our team we are looking for a committed, creative and flexible PhD candidate (male/female) with advanced professional knowledge in Information Technology and interest in the current development in business informatics. The environment of mobile systems and applications will give you valuable work experience in interdisciplinary and multinational projects with travel and project responsibility. Beside your project work and other activities at the chair, the preparation of your PhD thesis is in key. Our interdisciplinary environment with computer scientists and economists leads to synergies in our research and teaching, especially in IT Security, Identity Management and secure infrastructures in mobile environments. Our cooperation with donator T-Mobile International provides extraordinary strategic and infrastructural opportunities.

What we expect from you:

– Excellent knowledge in English (spoken and written)

You have advanced knowledge and special skills in the following domains:
– IT Security and cryptography background
– Programming languages and experiences in software projects
– Administration skills in different platforms (e.g. UNIX, Linux, Windows)

Knowledge in the following areas is highly preferable:
– Privacy-Enhancing Technologies and data protection
– Identity Management
– Smartcards and Trusted Computing
– Mobile Application Development (e.g. in Android, etc.)
– Web technologies and development
– Project management
Your Tasks:
– Participation in EU wide projects and tasks at the chair
– Assistance in teaching and supervising bachelor, master and diploma theses
– Preparation of your PhD

The position is available immediately and has a fixed-term of 3 years with an extension option. The employment will be according to E13 TV-G-U, and can be full or part time. The duration of the contract is limited by the regulations of the german “Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz” and the “Hessisches Hochschulgesetz”.
