Internships & Fellowships at Arena Stage Organization, USA: Areas of Artistic and Technical Production, Arts Administration, and Arts Education

Named for the Tony Award-nominated lighting designer, the Allen Lee Hughes Fellowship & Internship Program offers personalized training opportunities with Arena’s ensemble of resident artists, technicians and administrators. The goal of the program is to cultivate the next generation of theater professionals by providing the highest standard of training through immersion in the art and business of producing theater. Arena Stage provides in-depth, hands-on experience with seasoned professionals.
Fellows and Interns work in the areas of artistic and technical production, arts administration, and arts education and community outreach. Training is supplemented with discussions and workshops with directors, designers and senior staff who provide insight into the overall management of the theater. Fellowships are only available for full-time, full-season commitments of 38-44 weeks. Internships are available during the summer and require an 8-12 week commitment. Arena Stage provides a weekly stipend. We are unable to provide housing. Arena Stage is an Equal Opportunity Employer. If you have already had your titles recognised in the past as equivalent to an Italian Degree, you should state it in your application, indicating the Italian Rector’s Decree recognising equivalence number (given by Italian authorities).
Candidates who have a foreign degree that has not been officially recognised as equivalent to the Italian degree must upload as attachment 2 (in the application Call form) an English translation, signed by the candidate, to enable the Doctoral School Committee to evaluate a possible equivalence.

PhD Studentship in Food Technology, Sweden

Emulsifying substances act by contributing to the disruption of the droplets and by protecting the formed droplets from coalescing. To enable these actions the emulsifiers need to adsorb rapidly at the surfaces and form a protective layer. Starch nanocrystals of specific sizes and hydrophobicity will be designed and used as colloidal particles to generate and stabilise Pickering type emulsions. The aim is then to understand their function depending on size, shape, and hydrophobicity in relationship to the interface they are adsorbing to. The use of starch nanocrystals as emulsion stabilisers is novel, and finds practical use not only in pharmaceutical and food applications, but also in the paper industry. Furthermore, the almost irreversible adsorption of colloidal particles creates very stable emulsions in contrast to surfactant molecules.

Eligibility/Entry Requirements

The general eligibility requirement for doctoral studies is a university degree of at least 240 ECTS credits, including at least 60 credits at an advanced level. Furthermore you need a valid university degree at advanced level (MSc) within a relevant study program.

To be qualifield for researach education (PhD education) in Food Technology the candidate needs to have a Master of Science in Engineering, specialisation in Biotechnology, Chemical engineering or Ecological enigneering or Master of Science in Chemistry or other discipline relevant to the field of the degree project or other equivalent degree
