International Occupational Therapy Scholarship, UK

Our International Occupational Therapy Scholarships programme is open to occupational therapists from India applying to study at Sheffield Hallam University on the MSc Applying Occupational Therapy programme who will be enrolling in September 2011. The scholarships will be awarded to well-qualified students who demonstrate professional achievement in the personal statement on their scholarship application form. Successful applicants will have their course fees reduced by £3000, making the overall programme fee £8,520. The MSc Applying Occupational Therapy Programme comes from the same Faculty as the successful MSc Applying Physiotherapy course which has a 100 per cent success rate in preparing students for Health Professions Council registration, a requirement for working in the UK. Demand for occupational therapists in health and social care remains strong in the UK.
Eligibility: To be eligible to apply for the Postgraduate International Occupational Therapy Scholarship you must

  • be classed as an international student for fees purposes
  • have a good undergraduate degree
  • have, or expect to achieve, a minimum of IELTS 6.5
  • be enrolling on the MSc Applying Occupational Therapy Course at Sheffield Hallam starting in September 2011
  • be able to evidence professional achievement in your personal statement
  • have submitted your course application
  • The scholarships panel will consider the quality of the personal statement alongside academic achievement when allocating scholarships. The panel will be held after the closing date and applicants will be notified approximately one week after the closing date using the contact details provided on their application form. The decision of the panel is final.

    Fulbright Scholarship Award in Teaching/Research in Public Health, Democratic Republic of the Congo

    Teach graduate courses in public health. Assist with student advising and conduct faculty training. Conduct research in area of specialization. Faculty areas of research currently include epidemiology and biostatistics, health services organization, disease control, environmental health and ecotoxicology, reproductive health, biomedical sciences and child nutrition and health.

    Scholars with a Ph.D., postdoctoral university or college teaching and research experience and previous experience in developing countries in political transition are preferred. The academic year consists of two semesters: mid-October until February and February until the end of July. A letter of invitation from the host institution is not needed to apply. An English language school, the American School of Kinshasa, is available for children in grades K-12 who accompany scholar.

    These scholarships are open to international (non-EU) applicants who will be enrolling in the 2011/12 academic year.Scholarship applications should be sent following an application for a taught course at Sheffield Hallam University.
    You must have accepted your offer and returned your scholarship application form by30 July 2011 for courses starting in September 2011, 30 November 2011 for courses starting in January 2012, Art and design. In no more than 250 words, please describe your most significant personal, academic or professional achievement to date, and how your selected course at Sheffield Hallam University will enable you to achieve in the future.
