Senior Clinical Training Scholarships – Small Animal Surgery, UK

These Scholarships provide an outstanding opportunity to study for a postgraduate qualification. One Scholarship is available from 1 April 2011 and one from 1 July 2011. The Scholars will be trained in all aspects of small animal surgery, including soft tissue and orthopaedics. The training programme is approved by the European College of Veterinary Surgery, and the Department is an Approved Centre for the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Surgery (orthopaedics).
The Scholarships are for one year in the first instance, renewable for periods of one year up to a total of three years. They are subject to an initial monitoring period of six months, and to review on an annual basis.
The Scholars will be required to register for a Certificate and/or Diploma in the appropriate field. The training programme requires participation in the Department’s clinical service, including the out-of-hours rota, in addition to small-group teaching of veterinary students.
Applicants must be a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, or hold a veterinary degree qualifying them for membership. Completion of an ECVS recognised internship or a minimum of two years’ experience in small animal practice is essential.

Junior Clinical Training Scholarships, University of Cambridge, UK: Small animal Discipline including Internal Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery, Orthopaedics, Oncology

Applications are invited from qualified veterinarians for this post-graduate training programme rotating through a large range of small animal disciplines, including Internal Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery, Orthopaedics, Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, Anaesthesia, Neurology and Clinical Pathology.
Some experience in small animal practice is preferred but new graduates may be considered.
The Programme is designed to provide a broad but intensive learning experience in various areas of small animal medicine. It will help to prepare individuals for Senior Clinical Training Programmes, but graduates seeking advanced training and experience prior to beginning practice will also benefit.
A candidate must be a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons

European Masters Education in Integrated Advanced Ship Design

The objective of the EMSHIP Erasmus Mundus Master is to provide a high education in Naval Architecture and Ship Design, through a 1.5 year – 90 Credits – Master Course accessible as Post Graduate studies, leading to a Double Master Degree from ULG-Liege, Belgium and ECN-Nantes, France) and a supplement diploma from Germany (Rostock), Italy (Genoa), Poland (Szczecin) or Romania (Galate).

EMSHIP corresponds directly to the needs of the European and Worldwide Marine Industry. The targeted candidates are:

*Candidates having already a master degree in another engineering field that would like to get a specialisation in Ship Design.
*Active engineering officers with 3-5 years seafaring work experience, that are looking for new knowledge to better fulfil their carrier objectives. There is indeed a large demand from ship-owners and port authorities to hire such officers, knowing what on-board service is, to manage and maintain their fleet.
*Candidates looking for complementary education in the Sailing Pleasure Crafts and Mega/Motor Yachts, but also in Safer and Cleaner Marine and Fluvial Transportation Mode.
*Engineers searching for advanced education in Hydrodynamics in Ship Design, Ship Production, CAD, Information Technology and Ship Structures.
