The aim of the fellowships which are sponsored by the Werner Siemens-Foundation (http://www.wernersiemens-stiftung.ch/) is to select and promote highly talented graduate students in the area of Life Sciences. The fellowships offer direct access to the PhD program, generous financial support, a rotation-based selection of the research group, and support for the attendance of scientific meetings and courses during the PhD.

Dulcie Bowman Scholarship in University of Auckland, New Zealand: Medical

The Scholarship was established to commemorate Miss Dulcie Bowman who died in February 1996. In spite of suffering from a significant hearing disability Dulcie Bowman graduated from The University of Auckland and thereafter pursued a career in teaching. The Scholarship was established in 1996 by Dulcie Bowman’s sister, Miss Alva Bowman, who gifted a capital sum to fund the Award.To encourage hearing impaired women students at either undergraduate or postgraduate levels enrolled in an approved program-me of study at Auckland University.
The Scholarship shall be awarded to a woman student at The University of Auckland who is enrolled part-time or full-time and who has paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, in the second or subsequent year of an approved course of study and who has a hearing disability (the nature of which and the degree of hearing loss needs to be confirmed in writing by a medical practitioner)
The basis of selection shall be academic merit assessed on the first year of university study.
The Scholarship shall be awarded by the Council upon the recommendation of a selection committee comprising the Vice-Chancellor (or nominee), a Dean of one of the University’s Faculties, and the Disabilities coordinator.

Developmental Professional Bursary for Academic Excellence in Clinical Psychology, New Zealand

This Bursary is intended for students enrolled full-time in the Postgraduate Diploma of Clinical Psychology  at the University of Waikato, who have had a paper accepted for presentation at a conference, either in New Zealand or overseas.
This Bursary may not normally be held with any other bursary, scholarship or award. Should a recipient subsequently receive any other awards tenable in the same year as this Bursary, then he/she may be required to relinquish the Developmental Professional Bursary for Academic Excellence in Clinical Psychology. Bursaries may only be taken up in the year for which they are offered. In any year, two Bursaries of up to $2,500 may be awarded.
The Bursary will be paid in one lump sum, upon presentation to the Scholarships Office of a flight ticket or travel receipt and confirmation from the conference organizer that the student will be presenting their paper. Payment will normally be processed within twenty working days of presentation of these documents.
