AW Howard Memorial Trust Fellowship, Australia: Agricultural science, natural resource management, agricultural economics and social science

The A W Howard Memorial Trust Incorporated seeks applications from suitably qualified students in agricultural science, natural resource management, agricultural economics and social science who are intending to commence or have started approved post-graduate tertiary studies (Masters or Doctorate degrees) that relate to the development, management and use of pastures.

The A W Howard Memorial Fellowship will be awarded on a competitive basis and will provide an annual $5000 “top up” postgraduate stipend to the successful applicant tenable for a period of up to 3 years. The successful student will be recognised as the “A W Howard Fellow”.
The Fellowship is open to Australian post-graduate students enrolled or intending to enrol at any tertiary institution located in Australia, or students who have been continuously resident in Australia for 3 years immediately preceding the closing date of applications.
At the conclusion of the tenure of the award, the Fellow shall present to the Trust a report summarising his or her study, to be published in “Agricultural Science”, the Journal of the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology. The Fellow will also be asked to give an A W Howard Memorial Trust seminar on the work.

PhD Position in Green Chemistry and Catalysis, Sweden

The PhD position is for four years, extendable to a maximum of five years by including department duties at a level of at most 20% (typically teaching).
Qualifications required: To qualify for a Ph D position the applicant must have at least a bachelor degree or equivalent of basic university education with a major in chemistry. It will be seen as a merit if the candidate has a master degree in chemistry. We are looking for a devoted and hard-working candidate willing to work in an interdisciplinary and stimulating research field.

Scholarship for MSc Clinical Trials by Distance Learning

This MSc Clinical Trials scholarship is available only to a student who is a national of, and resident within, a Low Income country as indicated on here.

Applicants will be assessed on the following criteria:
* the academic merit of the applicant (at least a 2:1 or equivalent first Honours undergraduate degree)
* at least two years’ proven work experience in the Clinical Trials field
* how the skills and qualification obtained from the MSc Clinical Trials would benefit both the applicant and their institution, with respect to current and/or future employment; and
* impact on the development of the applicant’s home country.

The scholarship covers full tuition fees to study the Distance Learning MSc Clinical Trials course, and a contribution towards local examination centre fees.

Scholarship Application Deadline: You must be in receipt of an offer of a place on the MSc Clinical Trials for your scholarship application to be considered; therefore applications for the course must be received no later than 31 March 2011. If you wish to submit both your scholarship application and course application together, this must be received no later than 31 March 2011. If you are already in receipt of an offer of a place on the course, the final deadline for receipt of scholarship applications only is 20 May 2011.
