IGBMC International PhD Programme, France: Biomedical research

IGBMC’s PhD Programme is based on a three year – intensive training which comprises dedicated research investigations and active participation in diverse lectures and practicals. Close collaborations with other research institutions in the “Parc d’Innovation” such as the adjacent MCI (Mouse Clinical Institute), the trinational biotechnology school ESBS (Ecole Supérieure de Biotechnologie Strasbourg ), the Faculty of Pharmacy as well as ISIS (Institut de Science et d’Ingénierie Supramoléculaires ) and the University of Strasbourg at large, contribute to synergistic and collegial interactions within and beyond IGBMC. Concomitantly with the highly cosmopolitan and dynamic nature of Strasbourg, our 280 students and post-doctoral fellows from over 30 distinct countries represent a key driving force of IGBMC international visibility.

The selection committee is composed of Group Leaders of the IGBMC. Students spend 3-4 years in one of the laboratories of the IGBMC, and attend lectures, seminars and courses to complete their training. During the course of their PhD, students will acquire all the skills they need to pursue successful careers in biology. They will be able to attend numerous first-class seminars given by internationally renowned scientists and discuss with them. They will experience the everyday excitement of working in a lab in an intellectually stimulating and dynamic environment.

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Undergraduate Scholarship for International Students 2011: Accountancy, Finance, Applied Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, BBA, Chemical Technology

Due to the differences in education systems, school-leaving qualifications that are acceptable for entrance to universities in other places may not necessarily be acceptable for entrance to an undergraduate programme at PolyU. To be eligible to apply for admission to our full-time government-funded (HKALE-entry) bachelor’s degree programmes, candidates who have studied under a non-local curriculum are expected to have achieved an academic standard equivalent to GCE A-level, or have satisfactorily completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma or the first year of university education.

The guidelines are for reference of students who wish to seek admission to PolyU based on non-local qualifications  . If you marginally fail to attain the grades or scores specified for certain qualifications, you may still be considered for admission if you have excellent performance at the selection interview. If you do not have any of the following qualifications but have other acceptable qualifications, you may be considered for admission to our full-time bachelor’s degree programmes taking an additional foundation year.
