3 Gerda Henkel Scholarships in the History of Ideas, Germany

Applications are invited from doctoral and post-doctoral researchers who are planning a history of ideas project based on the source material held at one or more of the three research institutions. The maximum bursary period is five months, and the grant amounts to 900 Euro per month for doctoral and 1500 Euro per month for post-doctoral candidates.

Proposals should develop a clear focused research question relevant to current trends in intellectual history. Interdisciplinary projects linking political intellectual history with the history of images and media would be particularly welcome. Purely literary projects cannot be considered. Candidates can apply to work consecutively at two institutions within the programme.

Orion Center Research Grant for PhD and Postdoctoral Research 2011, Israel

The Orion Center invites applications for its research grants (up to $2000). Preference is given to junior scholars (Ph.D. students and post doctoral students).
The grants are for research on the Dead Sea Scrolls and associated literature in all relevant disciplines. Preference is given to integrative studies involving the Scrolls and other aspects of Second Temple studies. Research connected with the grant must be carried out in Israel; grant recipients will be associated with the Orion Center and participate in Center programs.
The name of the applicant must appear on each page. 2011 TIGP Summer Internship Programme in Taiwan: Chemical Biology, Molecular Biophysics, Molecular Science and Technology, Molecular,Biological Agricultural Sciences,Bioinformatics,Molecular and Cell Biology,Nano Science and Technology

The Taiwan International Graduate Program is pleased to invite applications to our 2011 Summer Internship Program (TIGP-SIP). The TIGP is a unique all-English Ph.D. program supported by Academia Sinica, Taiwan’s most prestigious research institution. In collaboration with top-ranking local research universities the TIGP would like to invite young talents from around the globe to experience Taiwan’s top-notch scientific research facilities and to jointly build up an intellectual network for people with different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Over a two-months period in the summer of 2011, the TIGP is offering up to 60 internship opportunities in eight Ph.D. programs.

Launched in 2009, the TIGP-SIP is an intensive pre-doctoral research training program that prepares its participating interns with necessary knowledge and skills for future research or career development through rigorous hands-on training.
