Vacation Scholarship Award 2011, Australia: Biomedical, social or applied research

If you wish to apply for a MSRA Vacation Scholarship first obtain a number from the Research Coordinator  ahead of the closing date. Please provide your name, application title and indicate separately if your application is in biomedical, social or applied research. The number will be emailed to you and must be used on your application and all correspondence. Please contact the latter if you wish to be advised of the MS researchers and the projects working in your locale. You must approach a researcher and obtain their agreement that you may complete your vacation scholarship work in their lab under their supervision and on their project. Please arrange for the supply of two (2) Referee Reports one of which must be the supervisor of the research you propose to undertake. The Referee reports are welcomed electronically but must be generated from the Referee’s email address and emailed directly to the MSRA Research Coordinator by the required closing date.

Please supply a detailed transcript of your academic results. This can be attached as a scanned document.Academic transcripts must be counter-signed, by reference to the original, by your supervisor. It is recognised that applications close before full year end results are available. The year end results will be requested before the scholarship is approved. You will be notified if these are required. Scholarships will be assessed during the MSRA Research Management Council grant round decisioning. All Vacation Scholarship applications must be submitted using this application form. Applications not submitted on this form will be ineligible for consideration. In terms of format, printing options must be set to single side and the font setting used should be Arial Narrow 11. Please delete this covering page before you submit your application. 2011 PhD Positions of Excellence in Architecture, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden

KTH is the largest technical university in Sweden. Education and research cover a broad spectrum within natural sciences and engineering, as well as architecture, industrial engineering and management, urban planning, work science and environmental engineering. KTH has 13 344 full-time equivalent students, of whom 6 955 are at Bachelor (first) level, while 5 545 are at Master (second) level. In addition, 1 314 are full-time equivalent students at doctoral studies (third) level and 3 900 employees.

The department of Architecture educates architects and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Architecture. There are five research groupings: Architectural Design, History and Theory of architecture, Architectural Technology, Critical Studies of Architecture, and Urban Design. The doctoral studentships offered will be connected to the planned National School of Research in Architecture from spring 2012.

10 Fully-Funded Distance Learning Scholarship in MSc Forestry , Bangor University, UK

We are pleased to announce that up to 10 fully-funded scholarships (each worth over £12,000 to cover tuition fees) are available for applicants from the following developing commonwealth countries to study for our MSc Forestry by distance learning:

Bangladesh, Botswana, Cameroon, The Gambia, Ghana, Guyana, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

The scholarship also includes a £2,000 bursary to enable scholars to attend a study tour which will be held overseas in July/August.

This postgraduate course is primarily intended for students who already have an interest in forestry and who wish to learn more about the environmental and societal benefits that forests can provide. Suitable applicants include individuals working in forestry/forest-related industries/ natural resource management, particularly in the fields of planning, regulation, policy, monitoring and environmental protection. The course is also suited to individuals working in forestry education who wish to further their knowledge and expertise in order to improve their teaching.
