ESMT Offers MBA Students Two-Month German Course: Intensive language course

ESMT is giving its future students the chance to improve their German language skills courses at every level. For students enrolling at ESMT by the end of July 2011, ESMT will cover the tuition costs. For those who decide to come to ESMT after this date, the program will be offered at a discount.

Because of its strong economic growth Germany has become a highly attractive market for successful MBA alumni. The language courses are part of the support ESMT offers its students to find a job in Germany. Sixty per cent of the ESMT alumni already work in Germany after graduation. Nick Barniville, Director of MBA Programs, commented, “Thanks to the close relationship with our founding companies we know that German language skills are still highly important to find employment in Germany. We are glad that we were able to win the renowned Goethe Institute Berlin as partner for our students’ top level education.”

The intensive 8-week-training begins in mid-October and ends in mid-December, two weeks before the start of the MBA program. The future MBA students therefore have the chance to get to know Berlin before the beginning of their studies. The program also offers the opportunity to rent a room from German hosts and have direct contact with the German language and culture. The courses go half a day every weekday, and the students receive a certificate upon the successful completion of the course.

During the MBA program, ESMT continues to offer students weekly German lessons on campus; they can also take advantage of further Goethe courses at discounted rates after graduation.

August 2011 INSEAD Scholarships MBA Programme: Management

INSEAD Scholarships are the most sought-after source of financial assistance. They are limited in number and there is significant competition for each award. These scholarships are granted under various criteria and essentially there are two basic categories of scholarships:

Need-based: demonstrate financial need
Non-need based: based on either merit, nationality, gender, professional background, leadership abilities, field of previous studies etc.

Eligibility Criteria

All scholarships have specific eligibility criteria based on a combination of merit and financial need. Candidates will be judged on the quality of their scholarship essays and the degree to which they meet the eligibility criteria. As a part of the merit criteria, the Committee will consider the academic and professional achievements and merit distinctions received. Please note that neither admissions essays nor GMAT results will be considered as part of the scholarship review process.

The group of need-based scholarships is primarily focused on emerging and developing markets. Therefore, when reviewing these scholarship applications, financial need is the main criterion. Please note that a number of supporting documents will be required for the need-based scholarships. You will find these documents listed under the need-based scholarship description.
