2011 Research Degree Scholarships at Hull University Business School, UK

The following scholarships are available for students studying on our PhD programmes. Three scholarships that each pay the fees to the value of UK/EU tuition fees, irrespective of the nationality of the scholarship winner, and stipend to a maximum of three years. Applicants who:

  • have applied and received confirmation of an offer to study on the MPhil/PhD programme at Hull University Business School
  • are able to commence their studies in September 2011.
  • Competitive, awarded on the basis of best overall application, research proposal and fit with the school’s research strategy. Complete and submit the scholarship application form, as directed on the form, along with the following (note: applications submitted without full documentation will not be considered): A research proposal of approximately 3,000 words (excluding referencing) detailing excellent knowledge of subject literature and research methods. The research proposal should be properly referenced utilising Harvard referencing style. A covering letter to accompany the completed application form outlining your case for the scholarship award. A current detailed CV, identifying any research employment or experience and, where applicable, details of conference presentations or publications.

    2011 Phd and Postdoctoral Positions in Architecture and Fine Art, Norwegian University of Science Technology, Norway

    The faculty of Architecture and Fine Art, NTNU, announces six Ph.d.- and one post doctor positions.As Norway’s primary university for the study of science, engineering and technology, and with equally strong arts and humanities programmes, NTNU is eager to welcome international PhD candidates to our research community. The university offers degrees in a range of doctoral programmes.

    A master’s degree or similar qualifications enables you to apply for a PhD programme in a field related to your degree. The university typically allows 3 years for the completion of a PhD, but the position can be extended to 4 years, including a 25 percent work requirement that’s often fulfilled by teaching.

    Postdoctoral Research Fellowship on “The EU as a Global Discursive Actor”, Belgium

    Attached to the Vice-President of the Institut d’Etudes Européennes (IEE), the hired researcher will sekk to contribute to the research capacities of the EUNRAGG research unit specifically within the context of the EU FP7 funded project “Europe Facing a Rising Multipolar World” entitled ‘Global Re-ordering: Evolution through European Networks’ (GR:EEN)

    The withheld researcher will be fully committed to the GR:EEN program and will share in the following responsibilities:
    -Drafting work to publishable standard
    – Organize a series of international scientific workshops
    -Assist in the development and promotion of PhD programmes
    -Help facilitate international linkages and partnerships in particular
    -Support a minimum of one Case-study Integrated Forum (CSIF) – a research and dissemination platform aimed at confronting the research and policy-making communities
