PhD Research Fellowship in Analysis and Design of Civil Engineering Structures, Denmark

A position as a PhD Research Fellow in Analysis and Design of Civil Engineering Structures at the Department Technology and Innovation is available as of 1 March 2011 for a three-year period.

The purpose of the project is to develop plasticity based models for design and strength prediction of various types of structural joints between reinforced concrete structural components such as panels and slabs. The project includes analytical and numerical studies as well as experimental investigations.

Candidates with a M.Sc. degree in civil- or structural engineering, a strong background in concrete mechanics and documented experiences in structural testing are invited to apply.

The successful applicant will be enrolled as a PhD student at the PhD School at the Faculty of Engineering within the Research Training Program of Applied Mathematical Modeling.

Appointment as a PhD Research Fellow is for three years (5+3 program). Employment stops automatically at the end of the period. The holder of the Fellowship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the period.

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement of 1 October 2008 on salaried PhD scholars between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

The successful candidate will be enrolled at this university in accordance with faculty regulations and the Danish Ministerial Order on the PhD Program at the Universities (PhD executive order).

BEVA Trust Research Fellowship in Equine Science, UK

Applications are invited from those who have, or will have shortly completed a PhD in a relevant area and who wish to pursue post-doctoral research in any area of equine science. The intention is that the research project will focus on epidemiology or infectious diseases, particularly where the outcome of the research will be relevant in the developing world and may also result in improved equine welfare. The Fellowship is funded for a fixed term of three years.

Research Position, National Institute of Immunology, India: Life Sciences

Applications are invited from candidates possessing the following qualifications for filling up 1 position of Scientist in DBT sponsored project titled, Primate Resource and Research Centre and facility on small animals – an incubator for translational research, initially for a period of one year, on consolidated emoluments of Rs 42,000/- p.m.

Qualifications: PhD, in any branch of Life Sciences, with 1 year post doctoral experience having flair for conducting intricate animal experiments.
The selected candidate has to carry out intricate animal experiments and discharge any other duties assigned from time to time.
Emoluments: The assignment will be for a period of one year on monthly consolidated contract emoluments of 42,000/- p.m.

1. The post exists in a sponsored project and is purely temporary. There shall be no claim for regular appointment against any core post of the Institute.

2. The post is initially for a period of one year. The other terms and conditions governing the appointment shall be as per the Rules and Regulations of the Institute applicable to project employment.

3. No hostel housing facility will be provided.

4. Applicants may clearly indicate the category they belong to i.e. SC/ST/OBC/PH and attach documentary proof of the same.

5. Candidates called for interview shall not be paid TA/DA.

6. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
