2011-2012 Arts and Cultures Scholarship, Newcastle University, UK

Newcastle University School of Arts and Cultures,Newcastle University is delighted to announce 5 new East Asian Arts and Cultures scholarship awards. These are available for international students from East Asian countries (China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong) starting their Postgraduate studies in September 2011 in the School of Arts and Cultures  Each scholarship will have a value of £2,600 per year, payable towards tuition.
Eligibility: You could be eligible to apply for these awards if: you have been made a Conditional or Unconditional offer for a place on a Postgraduate degree programme offered by the School of Arts and Cultures. You have been assessed as international/overseas for fees purposes. You intend to register to start your studies during the 2011-12 academic years. Applications for these awards cannot be made for a course that has already been started by a student.

2011 Chilean Bicentennial Fund Scholarships, University of Adelaide, Australia: Agriculture Food and Wine, Mining,Biotechnology and Biosciences, Information and Communication Technologies, Energy, Environmental issues, Health

The University of Adelaide is very pleased to be working in partnership with the Government of Chile to provide greater opportunities for Chilean students to pursue postgraduate studies in Australia. Under an Agreement for Co-operation in Human Capital Development between the Government of Chile and the University of Adelaide, places are available in a variety of programs for Chilean students who are awarded a scholarship by the Chilean Government. Under the agreement, scholarships will be available for up to four years for postgraduate research programs offered by the University of Adelaide.
The University is a leader in research with expertise in a broad range of research areas. Priority fields of study for the Bicentennial Fund Scholarship scheme include, but are not limited.The Scholarship provides living expenses while studying in Australia, full tuition fees, return economy air travel, health insurance for the duration of the program, and English language proficiency training before the commencement of the program (when required).

PhD Studentship in Modern Languages at Newcastle University, UK

The School of Modern Languages is offering a full PhD studentship (Graduate Teaching Assistantship) starting in October 2011, to enable a student to carry out doctoral research on a topic in one of the following fields: Chinese and Japanese Studies; French and Francophone Studies; German Studies; Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies; Film Studies; Linguistics; Translating and Interpreting Studies. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, the successful candidate will teach up to 6 hours per week and in return will receive: An annual stipend of £ 13,000 A waiver for UK/EU fees throughout the 3-year period. Appropriate training for doctoral research and teaching.The studentship will commence on 01/10/2011 or as soon thereafter as possible, for a period of 3 years.
