Call for Proposal:Innovative Civil Infrastructure Technologies, India

Department of Science and Technology (DST) is implementing Technology Systems Programme aimed at technology development and transfer in identified niche areas. This programme supports activities at developing and integrating technologies to evolve technology systems both in the advanced/emerging areas and in traditional sectors/areas. Under the programme, feasibility of newer ideas/concept is assessed for their potential conversion into useful technology/product. One of the identified niche area under the programme relates to Innovative Civil Infrastructure Technologies.
The Project Proposals could be submitted for financial support by scientists/engineers/technologists working in academic institutions/registered societies/R&D institutions/laboratories having adequate infrastructure/facilities to carry out Technology Development work/prototype building. DST would encourage multi-disciplinary proposals envisaging network/collaboration of various institutes having diverse expertise and facilities for synergistic implementation of the projects. Expertise/Intellectual Property Right (IPR), Technology Transfer to Industry with PI/Institute may be highlighted. Prescribed format is available under TSD programme at DST website.

Charles and Kathleen Manatt Fellowship in Democracy Building 2011 in USA: International relations, political science, public administration

The Charles and Kathleen Manatt Fellowship, funded by former U.S. Ambassador to the Dominican Republic and former Chair of IFES’ Board of Directors, Charles Manatt, and his wife Kathleen awards one $5,000 Manatt Fellowship ($2,000 upon the start of the fellowship, $2,000 midway through the fellowship, and $1,000 upon receipt of research paper) to bring outstanding graduate students from the American Midwest to Washington, D.C. to conduct research in democracy-building. The Manatt Fellowship marked the inauguration of the Democracy Studies Fellowship programs at IFES.The Manatt Fellowship is available for U.S. or international graduate students attending universities in the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.Past fellows found the Manatt Fellowship an excellent boost to their careers in international development or research. For example, fellows have gone on to manage programs at the National Democratic Institute and consult for Asia Foundation election programs in Pakistan.

Eligibilty:1. Applicants must be a U.S. or international student studying at a US university in one of the states listed above.2. Applicants should be graduate students in either Masters or PhD programs who have not yet completed their degrees.3. Applicants should be pursuing degrees in international relations, political science, public administration.

The Singapore International Graduate Award(SINGA) 2012, Singapore: Science, Technology and Research

The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) is a collaboration between the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR), the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Nanyang Technological University (NTU). PhD training will be carried out in English at your chosen lab at A*STAR Research Institutes, NUS or NTU. Students will be supervised by distinguished and world-renowned researchers in these labs. Upon successful completion, students will be conferred a PhD degree by either NUS or NTU.

Eligibility:
* Open to all international students
* Graduates with a passion for research and excellent academic results
* Good skills in written and spoken English
* Good reports from academic referees
