Last Minute Deadline: World Bank Scholarship Program 2011-March 31 2011

The mission of the World Bank Group is to reduce poverty and improve living standards through sustainable development and investment in people. The World Bank Institute (WBI) is at the forefront of the Bank’s efforts to promote learning and deliver to the stakeholders, the best thinking and experience emerging from around the world on issues crucial to reform and socio-economic development.

Through its management of the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) and the Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program (RSM Fellowships), WBI supplements its training programs by providing opportunities for graduate study to promising professionals from developing member countries.

The objective of the Scholarship and Fellowship Programs is to help create an international community of highly-trained professionals working in the field of economic and social development. The community will actively participate in the capacity building efforts in the developing countries.

Respective candidates are encouraged to carefully go through both the JJ/WBGSP and RSM Fellowships and review the eligibility criteria. For the JJ/WBGSP Regular Program and RSM Fellowships candidates apply directly to the Secretariat at the World Bank Headquarters. For both the Partnership Programs the respective host universities should be contacted.

Rivers State Government of Nigeria Governor’s Special Overseas Scholarship Programme 2011/2012 Postgraduate Award

The Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates of Rivers State origin for selection in the Governors Special Overseas Postgraduate scholarship Programme for 2011/2012 session

Who Should Apply:

  • Must be of Rivers State Origin (Should submit a copy of LGA identification)
  • Graduates of recognized universities with not less than second class upper honours degree at the undergraduate level
  • Not below 21 years or above 35 years old confirmation of age required preferably by birth certificate
  • Must have completed NYSC
  • Must have gained admission into any of the listed Universities in the relevant fields specialization for Master and PhD programmes

Westfield Fellowship in Sustainable Development, USA

The Association is pleased to announce a Westfield Fellowship for up to US$30,000 a year. The Westfield Fellowship will support Australian researchers who wish to conduct leading research in sustainable development at a top US educational or research institution.The Westfield Group is the largest retail property group in the world by equity market capitalisation and one of the largest entities listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. The American Australian Association awards Fellowships at the graduate (Masters, PhD or post-doctoral) level. Fellowships are available for Australians who will benefit from doing advanced research or study in the fields of business, science, technology, medicine, engineering and sustainable development in the United States. In return, Fellows are expected to contribute to Australia’s intellectual capital as well as the country’s overall social and economic well-being upon their return.
