UK India Education and Research Initiative Study Summer Program 2011

UKIERI Study India is a three week summer programme that gives UK undergraduate students the opportunity to visit India first hand. The programme runs in Mumbai and Delhi, and offers a mix of language and culture classes, lectures on Indian history and commerce and visits to cultural and historic sites.
The programmes include; lectures on Indian culture and economics, trips to sites of historic and cultural interest, hindi classes, and a chance to spend time with the Student ambassadors from Indian Universities.
To be eligible to apply candidate must be: –
A full time student
– Studying undergraduate level
– At an English, Scottish, Welsh or Northern Ireland University or HE or FE College
– At least 18 years old at start of the programme
– In your first or second year of study or graduating in the same year as the programme.

The Higher Education Master’s in Africa Programme : Call for Applications 2011

The Higher Education Master’s in Africa Programme (HEMA) is a NORAD-sponsored collaborative programme involving the University of the Western Cape, the University of Oslo, and the Centre for Higher Education Transformation (CHET). HEMA at UWC is a research-based programme (by dissertation) focusing on the changing functions, policies, and operations of Higher Education. Before conducting thesis research, students will take three non-credit modules, viz. Introduction to Higher Education (to be taught at the University of Oslo as part of the Erasmus Mundus European Master’s in Higher Education Programme); Research Methods and Proposal Development; and Higher Education and Development (to be taught at UWC).
Through various disciplinary perspectives, the programme will provide students with a solid basis for analysing and critically assessing change processes at all relevant levels in higher education. This Master’s programme is the first to include a focus on the complex relationship between higher education and development. The programme is linked to a research network on expertise in higher education in Africa, giving successful applicants access to the latest knowledge in the field.
The student target group is those currently involved in or aspiring to become involved in higher education, be it as administrators, researchers, policy-makers, curriculum managers, or consultants.

International Scholarship for Master’s Studies at Sheffield Hallam University, UK: Commercial law, English language teaching, Environmental management, Project / construction management

scholarship applications should be sent following an application for a taught course at Sheffield Hallam University. The scholarships are only available for courses starting in September 2011, unless it is indicated below that they are also available for courses starting in January 2012.  You must have accepted your offer and returned your scholarship application form by 30 June 2011 for courses starting in September 2011.
Eligibility: To be eligible to apply for the Postgraduate International Occupational Therapy Scholarship you must
-be classed as an international student for fees purposes
-have a good undergraduate degree
-have, or expect to achieve, a minimum of IELTS 6.5
-be enrolling on the MSc Applying Occupational Therapy Course at Sheffield Hallam starting in September 2011
-be able to evidence professional achievement in your personal statement
-have submitted your course application
The scholarships panel will consider the quality of the personal statement alongside academic achievement when allocating scholarships. The panel will be held after the closing date and applicants will be notified approximately one week after the closing date using the contact details provided on their application form. The decision of the panel is final.
