BU Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship September 2012 entry for Nigeria, Ghana, Indonesia, Russia and Vietnam

This scholarship is offered to students who have applied to study a full-time taught postgraduate (Masters) degree at BU and who are resident in one of the following countries: Ghana, Indonesia, Nigeria, Russia or Vietnam.

Who is eligible to apply for this scholarship?

Students resident in the following countries at the time of application who are classified as ‘overseas’ for fee purposes are eligible to apply.

  • Ghana
  • Indonesia
  • Nigeria
  • Russia
  • Vietnam

To which courses does this scholarship apply?

All full-time BU postgraduate courses.

How much is the scholarship worth?

50% of tuition fee payable for the standard duration of the course (excludes repeat units).

How is this scholarship paid?

Scholarships are paid by a reduction in tuition fee.

How many scholarships are awarded annually?

Ten (two for each eligible country)

What are the criteria for this scholarship?

  • You must be able to demonstrate an exceptional academic profile (equivalent to UK 1st Class Honours degree as assessed by NARIC)
  • You must be able to demonstrate an outstanding personal profile as evidenced in your personal statement.

Other information about this scholarship

  • Recipients of this scholarship cannot be in receipt of any other BU scholarship
  • Financial need will not be taken into consideration.

The deadline for applications is 31 May 2012. You can apply at the same time or after you have submitted your course application form.

When will I hear if I have been successful?

Successful applicants will normally be informed by 31 June 2012. Although we may contact you with a decision in principle based on any predicted grades, your award will not be formally approved until you hold an unconditional firm offer.

The Muljibhai Madhvani Foundation is a Charitable Trust which was set up with the primary objective of promoting scientific
and technical education for the betterment of the people of Uganda.
It is in pursuit of this objective that the Board of Trustees of the Foundation set up a Scholarship Committee and instituted a University scholarship programme starting in the 2003/4 academic year. The scholarship programme is aimed at benefiting Ugandans pursuing either undergraduate or post-graduate education at University level in Uganda.

International Scholarship for Master’s Studies at Sheffield Hallam University, UK: Commercial law, English language teaching, Environmental management, Project / construction management

scholarship applications should be sent following an application for a taught course at Sheffield Hallam University. The scholarships are only available for courses starting in September 2011, unless it is indicated below that they are also available for courses starting in January 2012.  You must have accepted your offer and returned your scholarship application form by 30 June 2011 for courses starting in September 2011.
Eligibility: To be eligible to apply for the Postgraduate International Occupational Therapy Scholarship you must
-be classed as an international student for fees purposes
-have a good undergraduate degree
-have, or expect to achieve, a minimum of IELTS 6.5
-be enrolling on the MSc Applying Occupational Therapy Course at Sheffield Hallam starting in September 2011
-be able to evidence professional achievement in your personal statement
-have submitted your course application
The scholarships panel will consider the quality of the personal statement alongside academic achievement when allocating scholarships. The panel will be held after the closing date and applicants will be notified approximately one week after the closing date using the contact details provided on their application form. The decision of the panel is final.
