Eligibility:

  • Students from any overseas country, except New Zealand, who are commencing a new research degree course and do not already hold an equivalent degree are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants for coursework awards are not eligible to apply, even where there is a research component in the degree.
  • Students who have already commenced their research degree may not be eligible.
  • Current AusAID students are ineligible.

Scholarship Description: These awards are for full-time study towards higher degrees by research. IPRS are funded by the Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations (DEEWR). Competition for scholarships is intense; only applicants with extensive research training and experience will be offered an award. UWS may also offer University funded awards called UWS International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (UWSIPRS). These awards carry the same stipend and conditions as the government funded IPRS. Applicants do not need to apply separately for these awards. All applicants for the IPRS are automatically considered for the UWSIPRS if they are not offered an IPRS.

The Ministry of Education has recently launched a prestigious Singapore-MIT (Massachusetts Institute of  Technology) Alliance (SMA) Graduate Fellowship. These 4-year SMA Graduate Fellowships are available for highly talented doctoral graduate education and research for students from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and National University of Singapore (NUS) who wish to conduct their research at Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) Centre.

The selection of candidates will take place twice a year, in time for the start of the semesters in August and January.

Eligibility

The Fellowships  are open to students of all nationalities who gain admission to any Ph.D. programme at the University where research interest fits within one or more of projects currently being carried out in on of the SMART Interdisciplinary Research Groups (IRGs) :

  • BioSystems and Micromechanics (BioSYM);
  • Center for Environmental Sensing and Modeling (CENSAM);
  • Infectious Disease (ID)
  • Future Urban Mobility (FUM)

The student must have graduates with an undergraduate degree at the level of a first class or second uppers (equivalent).

Award Amount

  • A monthly stipend of S$3,200
  • Cover all tuition fees at NTU and other compulsory fees
  • A travel grant of S$12,000 to help cover the expenses associated with a six-month research residency at MIT (travel grant covers airfare; MIT housing; MIT visiting student fee and health insurance)

Award Period

The award is tenable for 1 year in the first instance; but subject to the Fellow’s satisfactory progress, it may be renewed annually. The maximum period of award is four years.

This scholarship is offered to International students who have applied to study the MA Multi Media Journalism course at BU beginning in September 2011, and who can demonstrate they already have an outstanding academic profile. Only students who have applied for MA Multi-media Journalism in Bournemouth Media School and who have been made an offer of a place on the programme, (conditional or unconditional) will be considered for the scholarship. Recipients of this scholarship cannot be in receipt of any other BU scholarship Financial need will not be taken into consideration.

 

 

Eligibility:-

  • The Scholarship is awarded to a student who has achieved an excellent standard in their undergraduate degree, can demonstrate a high level of English proficiency (if English is not their first language) and has provided information which suggests that they are likely to be an asset to the programme.
