2010 Arthritis Victoria PhD Scholarship, Australia

Arthritis Victoria is excited to announce our PhD Scholarships Program for 2010. We are seeking committed and enthusiastic PhD scholars to explore ways in which Arthritis Victoria can improve the health outcomes of our consumers.

Full scholarships and/or top up scholarships will be offered to students residing in Victoria who are enrolled (or will enrol) at a Victorian university. Alternatively, Victorian-based research groups interested in the area of musculoskeletal health may apply for these scholarships. It is essential that the proposed research incorporates Arthritis Victoria’s Research Priorities 2009/2011 and contributes to the field of musculoskeletal research.

Postdoctoral Research Fellowship:”The Here and the Hereafter in Islamic Traditions” (HHIT), UK

This fixed term (45 months) full-time post forms part of a team working on a European Research Council Starting Grant research project entitled ‘The here and the hereafter in Islamic traditions’ (HHIT), led by Dr Christian Lange, Lecturer in Islamic Studies. The research team will also include two doctoral researchers. A willingness to work in a team is essential for this post.

The post-holder will report to Dr Christian Lange and be based within the School of Divinity.

The post-holder will be expected to:

*prepare a scholarly monograph on the broad topic of Islamic eschatology in one of the following areas: material culture/art, theology/law, mysticism/philosophy, and Islamic modernity;

*publish research results in the form of several articles or book chapters;

*engage in knowledge transfer by presenting research results at scholarly meetings, both national and international;

*assist with the arrangements of various symposia and conferences as appropriate;

*manage the project’s website;

*assist with HHIT general administration as required

Grants for Researchers in Economics or Finance at Italian Universities, Italy

Uni Credit and Universities Foundation has launched the first edition of the Post-Doc Research Grant competition, whose main aim is to support the academic research in Italy as well as to reinforce the cooperation among universities. In its 1^ edition, the UniCredit &Universities Post-Doc Research Grant would be awarded to 3 young researchers, assistant professors or research assistants (or equivalent positions) at Italian Universities. Each grant would be worth EUR 10,000 gross per year. Grants would be awarded for a maximum duration of two years.

To be eligible, applicants must:

1. be born after 1974 at the time of applying (while for women the birth date can be increased by one year per maternity)
2. have a PhD in economics or finance
3. be assistant professor or research assistant, or employed with an equivalent position at any accredited Italian university (while nationality is not relevant as eligibility requirement)
4. present a Research Project not yet financed with funds generating income increase

In addition, the topic of research must be in the fields of economics or finance. Applications must be received by 31 October 2010, with grants commencing from January 2011. Candidates may only apply online, using the application form available on this website.

The selection process will be conducted by the Scientific Committee of the Foundation. Winners will be announced by mid December 2010.
