Xiamen University International Scholarships 2011-2012, China

The Xiamen University announced scholarships for excellent applicants .The  scholarship is available for undergraduate’s, master’s and doctor’s students.Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.Applicants for undergraduate studies must hold a high school diploma and not be older than 25, for undergraduate studies must hold a high school diploma and not be older than 25,for doctoral studies must hold a master’s degree and not be older than 45.The Scholarship recipients will have their tuition fees covered, up to a maximum of 3 years for a PhD, 2 -3 years for a Master degree and 4-5 years for a Bachelor degree. The recipients’ academic performance will be assessed each year and only those achieving the required standard will have their scholarship renewed for the following year.

UNESCO/ISEDC Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme – 2011: sustainable and renewable energy

The aim of this fellowships programme is to enhance the capacity-building and human resources development in the area of sustainable and renewable energy sources in developing countries and countries in transition. The training activities in the framework of these fellowships are tenable in specialized institutions in the Russian Federation. The medium of instruction will be Russian. UNESCO will solicit applications from the developing countries and countries in transit

Fields of Study

The candidates may choose to study in the following fields of study, which are aligned with UNESCO’s objectives and programme priorities, as per approved 35 C/5 and in accordance with the decisions made by the Executive Board (161 EX/Decision 3.6.3 and 165 EX/Decision 8.6) :

(a) Energy and sustainable development;
(b) Ecological management of energy resources;
(c) Renewable energy;
(d) Sustainable and renewable energy power generation.

Duration
One month duration: from October to November 2011.

Qualifications Required
Candidates must meet the following criteria:

(a) Holder of at least a BSc degree or BA in Economics;
(b) Proficient in the Russian language;
(c) Not more than 45 years of age;
(d) Be in good health, both mentally and physically. ion.

Graduate Association (Hong Kong) Awards 2011, UK

The University of Liverpool Graduate Association (Hong Kong) Awards were established in 1997 following a generous donation from an anonymous benefactor. The objectives of the scholarships are to promote educational exchange and academic research respectively, between the University of Liverpool and residents of Hong Kong SAR and the People’s Republic of China.
Eligibility: A number of scholarships are awarded annually to academically outstanding students on undergraduate or postgraduate courses who have been admitted to full-time study. Each scholarship will be tenable for a period of three years, subject to satisfactory academic progress. The value of the scholarship will cover either full or part payment of the annual tuition fees. A living allowance may also be awarded if deemed necessary.
