2011 Naming and Branding Scholarship for Undergraduate Students, USA: Linguistics, English, Marketing or Mass Communications

Develop five (5) new name candidates for a new innovation in the automotive industry. Imagine a completely electric vehicle that you can drive continuously without having to plug in to recharge. The car recharges itself through wind energy generated by two small fans below the headlights that spin while the car is in motion. It is the ultimate renewable energy solution. Applicants are encouraged to develop coined or suggestive names. The name candidates should not include any obvious existing trademarks in the name and an online search for pre-existing trademarks should be completed before submitting an application.
Eligibility: Open to all undergraduate students majoring in Linguistics, English, Marketing or Mass Communications
2. Must have a minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
3. Applicants cannot be currently employed by Strategic Name Development
4. Students must be attending a college or university within the United States

Simpson Grierson established these scholarships in 2003 to assist students studying for the LLB to complete their studies and gain work experience.Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand who, during the year of tenure, will be enrolled full time for the penultimate year of LLB study at the University of Canterbury (in either a single or double degree programme).

UNESCO/ISEDC Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme – 2011: sustainable and renewable energy

The aim of this fellowships programme is to enhance the capacity-building and human resources development in the area of sustainable and renewable energy sources in developing countries and countries in transition. The training activities in the framework of these fellowships are tenable in specialized institutions in the Russian Federation. The medium of instruction will be Russian. UNESCO will solicit applications from the developing countries and countries in transit

Fields of Study

The candidates may choose to study in the following fields of study, which are aligned with UNESCO’s objectives and programme priorities, as per approved 35 C/5 and in accordance with the decisions made by the Executive Board (161 EX/Decision 3.6.3 and 165 EX/Decision 8.6) :

(a) Energy and sustainable development;
(b) Ecological management of energy resources;
(c) Renewable energy;
(d) Sustainable and renewable energy power generation.

Duration
One month duration: from October to November 2011.

Qualifications Required
Candidates must meet the following criteria:

(a) Holder of at least a BSc degree or BA in Economics;
(b) Proficient in the Russian language;
(c) Not more than 45 years of age;
(d) Be in good health, both mentally and physically. ion.
