Swedish-Turkish Scholarship Program for PhD and Post-doctoral Studies 2011-2012, Sweden

The first step in applying for this scholarship is to obtain a letter of invitation from a Swedish university department willing to accept you. In addition your application must be supported by a contact person at your home university. Applications must be submitted online with enclosures as digital documents.

Please note that to be eligible for a scholarship at PhD level you must be enrolled in an ongoing PhD studies at your home university in.

Please also note that to be eligible for a scholarship at Postdoctoral level you must be holder of a PhD degree, preferably from 2005 or later.

Two letters of recommendation. Mandatory.
Maximum 2 pages.

Two letters of recommendation from professors/academic supervisors containing the following information:

* interest of cooperation and long term impact of a study/research visit to Sweden.
* confirmation of the applicant’s status, i.e. either holder of a PhD-degree or enrolled as a PhD-student at home university.
* evaluation of the applicant’s English language proficiency.

We prefer that the letters of recommendations are submitted with this online application. If that is not possible, they can be sent in a sealed envelope instead. All documents or the envelope should then be marked with the reference number of your confirmed application. The envelope must have reached the Swedish Institute (Box 7434, 103 91 Stockholm) no later than February 10, 2011.

Taiwan Scholarship Program 2011, Republic of China (Taiwan)

The Taiwan Scholarship Program was established jointly by three government agencies of the Republic of China (Taiwan) — the Ministry of Education (MOE), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and the National Science Council of the Executive Yuan (NSC) — to encourage outstanding international students to undertake degree programs in Taiwan. While providing study opportunities for a wide range of disciplines, at Taiwan’s universities and colleges, this program also aims to:

  1. Promote knowledge, understanding and friendship between people in Taiwan and in countries around the world.
  2. Provide opportunities to increase academic and educational links with international institutions of higher learning.
  3. Develop outstanding professionals and experts to meet the needs of the global society.

Erasmsu Mundus: International MSc. in Environmental Technology and Engineering

The IMETE programme intensively promotes networking and exchange of knowledge and experience between different nationalities, in particular with scholars and students from developing countries and countries in transition, which are rapidly growing markets for the application of environmental technologies.
IMETE is offered by a consortium consisting of 3 leading Higher Education Institutes: Ghent University (UGent, Gent, Belgium), UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education (UNESCO-IHE, Delft, The Netherlands), and Institute of Chemical Technology Prague (ICTP, Prague, Czech Republic). Numerous associated partners from all over the world contribute to the programme. (more information).

Student mobility within Europe is an integral part of the programme, which contains 120 ECTS (2 years). During the programme, students study at Delft (The Nederlands), Prague (Czech Republic) and Gent (Belgium). The master thesis research is carried out in one of these locations, or in one of the many associated partner institutions all over the world.
