Postdoctoral Research Fellowship on “The EU as a Global Discursive Actor”, Belgium

Attached to the Vice-President of the Institut d’Etudes Européennes (IEE), the hired researcher will sekk to contribute to the research capacities of the EUNRAGG research unit specifically within the context of the EU FP7 funded project “Europe Facing a Rising Multipolar World” entitled ‘Global Re-ordering: Evolution through European Networks’ (GR:EEN)

The withheld researcher will be fully committed to the GR:EEN program and will share in the following responsibilities:
-Drafting work to publishable standard
– Organize a series of international scientific workshops
-Assist in the development and promotion of PhD programmes
-Help facilitate international linkages and partnerships in particular
-Support a minimum of one Case-study Integrated Forum (CSIF) – a research and dissemination platform aimed at confronting the research and policy-making communities

PhD Position for International and Home Applicants at K. U. Leuven, Belgium

The appointment will be on a temporary basis for a maximum period of 3 years (PhD student, regular employment contract). The remuneration will be in line with the EC rules for Marie Curie grant holders (Early-Stage Researchers, ITN). Requirements: The candidate must be fluent in spoken and written English. The candidate should hold a Masters degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering and should have experience with experimental research. Eligibility: The candidate must have no PhD and less than 4 years’ research experience. The applicant must not have spent more than 12 months in the country (Belgium) of the host/recruiting institution in the 3 years prior to selection.

Research Funding for a Joint Doctorate for National and International Students, Belgium

The PhD-student has to stay minimum 6 months and maximum 24 months at Ghent University. The stay may be divided into several periods within the span of 4 years.

Who can apply?
This call is open to both foreign and Belgian candidates who are enrolled as a PhD student at a non-Flemish university or institution for higher education who want to take a joint doctorate at both their home institution and Ghent University.

How does it work?
The candidate applies for this funding jointly with a promoter of Ghent University. To find a promoter candidates can browse through the list of faculties.

The Research Council makes a selection of the applications. The selection is based on the evaluation of the project, the added value of the stay at Ghent University for the joint doctorate, the qualifications of the applicant and the scientific potential of both the promoter’s research group and the research group at the partner institution.

The applications must be submitted in English.
