Australian Postgraduate Award in Fuzzy Spatial Temporal Climate Modelling, Australia: Sciences & Engineering

This scholarship is funded by an ARC Linkage-Projects grant working with Grain Growers Association and will provide support for 3 years on a full-time basis for a research project leading to a PhD. The objective of the research project is to develop a prediction model of seasonal rainfall and temperature based on fuzzy theory and data mining techniques.

Applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree in Science, Engineering, Agricultural Science or Land and Water Science. Demonstrated experience in programming mathematical algorithms using command line or research level programming languages (R, Matlab, Java, Fortran or C) is essential.The scholarship stipend is $27,222 p.a. in 2011 (tax exempt).Applications, including a curriculum vitae, copy of an academic transcript, proof of citizenship or permanent residency, the names and contact details of at least two referees.

UIC Institute for the Humanities Dissertation Fellowships 2011-2012, USA: History, philosophy, languages, linguistics, literature

The UIC Institute for the Humanities will offer two Dissertation Fellowships for advanced graduate students.   Institute for the Humanities Dissertation Fellowships are intended for students who have largely completed their dissertation research and are entering the writing stage of the process.  Applicants must be full-time graduate students in good academic standing.  The year-long Dissertation Fellowships provide stipends of $15,000 for a twelve-month academic year, or $1250 per month.  This includes a tuition and fee waiver, including the differential service fee (if any).
Dissertation Fellows will be expected to be in residence at the Institute, to present a public lecture on their work, and to participate fully with the Faculty Fellows in seminars and workshops. Proposals will be reviewed by the Institute for the Humanities 2011 Executive Committee. In response to questions about the appropriateness of particular projects for fellowships, the Institute has adopted the broad definition used by the National Endowment for the Humanities: “the term humanities includes, but is not limited to, the study of the following disciplines: history; philosophy; languages; linguistics; literature; archaeology; jurisprudence; the history, theory, and criticism of the arts; ethics; comparative religion; and those aspects of the social sciences that employ historical or philosophical approaches.”

Document Management and Graphic Communications Industry Scholarships 2011 in USA

The EDSF scholarship program was initiated in 1999 to recognize and support the next generation of professionals for the Document Management and Graphic Communication industry. The industry encompasses the wide range of businesses and professionals involved in the creation, management, production, distribution and storage of print and electronic documents.To be eligible for an EDSF scholarship, students must have the following:
. An interest in pursuing a career within the Document Management and Graphic Communication industry
. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
. Full-time student attending an accredited college or university as of the Fall 2011 semester
. International students may apply
Criteria :Scholarships are based on a combination of the following: Scholastic achievement, application essay,participation in school activities, community service, honors and organizational affiliations, education objectives and academic and professional recommendations. Depending on specific sponsor criteria,other elements may be considered, such as geographic location, college preference, organization andpresentation. Previous EDSF Scholarship Recipients Must Reapply.Students who have received EDSF scholarships in the past must reapply each year as the scholarships are not automatically renewed. A revised, updated application and references must be submitted.
Scholarship Selection:The EDSF Scholarship Committee, made up of individuals active in the Document Management and
Graphic Communication industry, reviews the applications and selects the award recipients.Awards will be announced no later than July 29, 2011.
