Truman G. Blocker, Jr. History of Medicine Fellowship, USA

The Moody Medical Library of the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston is pleased to offer the Truman G. Blocker, Jr. Fellowship to support research related to the history of medicine conducted at the Moody Medical Library. The Truman G. Blocker, Jr. Fellowship will provide between $2,000 and $4,000 per year to support travel, lodging and incidental expenses for the period between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011. Upon completion the recipient will deliver a paper at the University of Texas Medical
Branch outlining the research, provide an expense report and a copy of the final research product. The University of Texas Medical Branch also reserves the right to post excerpts from the work, a photograph and biographical material of the Fellow on our website .

PhD Scholarship at FASoS Graduate School, Maastricht University, Netherlands

Our PhD Programme focuses primarily on offering you education, training and supervision to enable you to become an excellent researcher. The emphasis is on the acquisition of research skills, intensive supervision and collaboration with other PhD candidates and senior staff inside and outside the Faculty. There will be room for other activities, such as teaching or organising a conference. You will have the opportunity to develop a broad range of academic skills.

PhD Position for International and Home Applicants at K. U. Leuven, Belgium

The appointment will be on a temporary basis for a maximum period of 3 years (PhD student, regular employment contract). The remuneration will be in line with the EC rules for Marie Curie grant holders (Early-Stage Researchers, ITN). Requirements: The candidate must be fluent in spoken and written English. The candidate should hold a Masters degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering and should have experience with experimental research. Eligibility: The candidate must have no PhD and less than 4 years’ research experience. The applicant must not have spent more than 12 months in the country (Belgium) of the host/recruiting institution in the 3 years prior to selection.
