When submitted properly, you will receive a copy of your filed application. ·  The College of Communications Scholarship Application Form (required to be considered for any scholarship from the College). Available online below.  FAFSA (Free Application for Federal and State Aid) is required for scholarships that stipulate financial need. In order to establish and document your financial need, you must complete this form in accordance with instructions from the Office of Student Aid. This financial statement should be filed as soon as possible after Jan. 1. This form is required for any scholarship awarded for “demonstrated financial need,” and more than 95 percent of College of Communications scholarships require that proof. If you have questions about the FAFSA form, please contact the Office of Student Aid by phone (814-865-6301).
Eligibility:
Recipient selection is based on the pre-set criteria established for each scholarship. While on scholarship, students must continue to meet the eligibility requirements:

  • Declare a major in the College of Communications at University Park
  • Complete a full-time course load (12 or more credits per semester with a requirement of 30 credits per year)
  • Maintain a respectful cumulative GPA
  • Attend scholarship recognition events as requested

    PhD Studentship within the ATLAS Experiment at the CERN Large Hardon Collider, Sweden: Physics and Astronomy

    The Uppsala ATLAS group is part of the High Energy Physics group at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, and currently consists of three faculty members, one post-doctor and three graduate students. We are looking for an excellent and highly motivated PhD student with keen interest in experimental physics and competence within data analysis programs (e.g. C++ and ROOT). The PhD student will work on physics analysis of data from ATLAS and take part in the development of tools for distributed analysis on the grid needed for this purpose.

    The PhD position is funded for four years, extendible to a maximum of five years including department duties at a level of at most 20% (typically teaching).

The Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur, established as Civil Engineering College, Calcutta, way back in 1856 with the idea of introducing engineering education in the country, has a long and checkered past. The University was known as Calcutta Civil Engineering College on and from 24th November, 1856, when there were only 10 students and a few instructive staff. From 12th February, 1920 the name was changed to B.E. College Shibpur. The word Shibpur was deleted from 24th March, 1921. Till 1992, it was a constituent college of the Calcutta University. In recognition of its service to the nation for all these years, the college was elevated to the status of a Deemed University in 1992 and the Honourable President of India, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, formally inaugurated Bengal Engineering College (A Deemed University) on March 13, 1993. On 1st October, 2004, the deemed university was elevated to the status of a University with its present name.
