Scholarships for students wishing to undertake PhD research in the general area of river flow forecasting in Monash University, Australia
CSIRO Water for a Healthy Country Flagship is offering a tax free living allowance scholarship of $26,500pa for a student wishing to undertake PhD research in the general area of river flow forecasting. The living allowance will be available for a maximum of three and half years and comes with $5,000pa for operating expenses.
The PhD candidature would be undertaken through Monash University in partnership with CSIRO Land and Water at Highett.
Persons with a background in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, Geography, Mathematics or a related field with a strong interest iin mathematical modelling are encouraged to apply.
Applications should include a copy of your CV and academic transcripts. Applicants are also encouraged to include a two page research proposal outlining how you plan to improve river flow forecasting, including aspects such as:
Timescales from days to seasons;
Impacts of land use and vegetation changes;
Constraint by observational data;
Effective use of river flow forecasts for water management.
