This service provides information on Scholarships, Grants, Fellowships opportunities at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels including Research Institutions for Nigerians and Africans
Key responsibilities include:
1. preparation of multiferroics by innovative methods
2. preparation of magneto-electric composites
3. characteristics of physical properties of obtained materials
Profile of candidates:
1. MSc degree in materials science, physics or chemistry or related fields
2. the interest in scientific research
3. good English skills
4. good studies record

The scholarship has an additional operating, training and travel budget to assist students in field investigations. The successful candidates will work with a small team of researchers based in Perth, Western Australia.
Eligibility: Candidates will be expected to have:
* An Honours (H1A or H2A) degree, Masters degree (Distinction average) or equivalent in a relevant physical science, engineering discipline, and/or mathematics.
* A basic understanding of the fluid dynamics; numerical modelling; optimisation and statistical computations; and well developed skill computer programming using computation languages (such as C++, Matlab and Fortran), which are fundamentals to the successful outcomes of both project outcomes. Experience with parallel programming using visualisation libraries will be well regarded.
* The ability to, and experience in, working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
* English proficiency, with strong written and oral communication skills.
* A commitment to applied research

Applicants demonstrating outstanding academic achievements may qualify for an academic merit scholarship worth £2,000; up to 5 awards of £2000 each are available for each of the above MSc programmes.Selection will be based on the postgraduate application form and supporting documentation such as academic transcripts and references; no additional scholarship applications are required.All overseas applicants who have submitted their Masters programme application by 1 June will be considered for the awards.
Successful candidates will be notified of the selection outcome.Only self-funding applicants will be considered for the awards. The awards will take the form of a tuition fee reduction. The awards can be combined with other University of Sheffield scholarships.
