2011 K. C. Mahindra Education Trust Scholarships for Postgraduate Studies Abroad: Engineering,Natural Sciences, Humanities,Medicine and Business Management including the study of military and Naval and Aviation Sciences

The K C Mahindra Scholarship for Post Graduate Studies Abroad is an interest free loan scholarship which is awarded to deserving graduates interested in pursuing their post graduate studies overseas. This scholarship has been ongoing since 1956. Announcement of the scholarship is done at the month of January in leading newspapers throughout India. Currently the maximum amount awarded per scholarship is Rs. 95,000/. From last year, KCMET has also announced the KC Mahindra Fellows Fund where the 3 most deserving candidates selected for the abovementioned scholarship are awarded an interest free loan scholarship ranging from Rs 5 to Rs 8 lacs, based on merit and need.
To be eligible, the candidate is required to possess a First Class degree or equivalent diploma of the same standard from a recognized university. The candidate must have secured admission or at least have applied for admission to a reputable university or institution abroad at the time of submission of the application form. The application form can be collected from our office at the end of January. Shortlisted students are called for the final interviews which are held in July. At the time of the interview you should have secured admission into the institute.

The Colombo Plan – Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore Postgraduate Scholarships 2011/2012: Civil Engineering, Safety, Health & Environmental Technology,Chemistry, Business (Financial Services)

In December 1977 the Colombo Plan for Cooperative Economic Development in South and Southeast Asia was changed to The Colombo Plan for Co-operative Economic and Social Development in Asia and the Pacific, to reflect the expanded geographical composition of its enhanced membership and the scope of its activities. The primary focus of all Colombo Plan activities is human resources development in the Asia-Pacific region. Over the years, the programme content of the Colombo Plan has been adjusted to respond to the needs of member countries in a fast changing economic environment. In the early years, the training programmes were more of a long-term nature whilst the current programmes are established to provide advance skills and experience sharing, aimed at arriving at the best practices in different fields of economic and social activities for effective policy making and governance.

The postgraduate programmes are taught in English.
Duration :The scholarship will be awarded for full-time study over duration of one year

Scholarship Up to 2 scholarships are available under this CPS – Singapore collaboration programme

Singapore Postgraduate Areas of Study Except in Medicine and Dentistry, candidates may pursue their Master Degree studies in areas of interest offered by the National University of Singapore (NUS), and the Singapore Management University.

DART–Doctoral Program in Accounting, Reporting, and Taxation for International Students, Austria

DART – the Doctoral Program in Accounting, Reporting, and Taxation – aims at training future leaders in accounting research and in specialist areas of practice to combine a strong tradition in institutions and norms with an emphasis on international state-of-the-art research methodology. The faculty involved in DART is well positioned to provide training for doctoral students and to supervise their research.
DART brings together all major accounting researchers in this area of Austria, who excel in the international academic accounting community. All of the members have published high-quality work in international journals. Since they are located at three major universities in Austria (the University of Graz, the University of Vienna, and the Vienna University of Economics and Business), DART is a joint project. DART offers an internationally accepted program located in Austria for educating young talent in accounting.

DART is funded by the Austrian Science Fund. In accordance with the Austrian Science Fund’s guidelines for doctoral programs, DART scholarship holders are paid a salary for a period of 3-4 years. The annual salary after taxes and social security contributions amounts to approximately 18,000 Euros. Given the costs for living and housing in Graz or Vienna, this salary enables the scholarship holders to concentrate on their studies.

Scholarships will be granted for a three-year period. For scholarship holders who spend a research period of at least six months at a qualified university outside of Austria, this period can be extended to up to four years.
