The African Watt Club Scholarship is funded by the African Watt Club Fund and it offers the amount of up to £2,500 per year of study at Heriot-Watt University, to an individual who meets the following criteria:
- Resident of an African country
- Individual’s family must earn less than £4,000 per year (evidence required)
- Evidence supplied of academic excellence
- Written evidence supplied of an individual’s desire to be a leader in their field
Applications will be accepted for the Scholarship from 1 April 2011 until 14 June 2011. Award of the Scholarship will be on or before 30 June 2011.
The panel which awards the Scholarship will include:
- One graduate of Heriot-Watt University from North Africa
- One graduate of Heriot-Watt University from Southern Africa
- One graduate of Heriot-Watt University from West Africa
- One graduate of Heriot-Watt University from East Africa
- The African Watt Club Ambassador
- Head of Development Operations, Heriot-Watt University
- Alumni Relations Officer, Heriot-Watt University
