2011 Charles Wallace Bangladesh Trust Doctoral Scholarships, UK

For Bangladeshi nationals who are in the final year, or anticipating the final year, of their PhD programme at a UK institution. This opportunity is for current students only.The Trust helps Bangladeshi nationals to pursue postgraduate study and professional development in the UK. The Board of Trustees has the authority to use the income from the Trust’s funds for Bangladeshis who are normally resident in Bangladesh to enable them to ‘follow courses of study, research or other educational pursuits which will advance the education of the said individual’.

Twice a year, in May and November, awards are granted to individual students already in the UK who are normally in the final year, or anticipating the final year, of their PhDs, and who need additional funding to help them complete their studies.The Trust is not primarily a hardship fund and all applicants are required to demonstrate academic excellence as well as financial need.Our maximum grant is £1,500, so applicants must have funds from other sources to cater for most of their needs.

Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation Postgraduate Scholarships in Film, Visual & Performing Arts 2011/12, UK

The School of Arts at the University of Kent, with the support of the Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation, has a scholarship available for the 2010/11 academic year, for a Hong Kong resident graduate studying any of our taught Film MA programmes-1.MA Film Studies 2. MA Film Studies (Paris)
The scholarship will pay £15,000 over one year, which will contribute to tuition fees and accommodation.The School of Arts is home to an exciting postgraduate community, engaged in a wide variety of innovative, quality, interdisciplinary research. Our 2008 Research Assessment Exercise submission was amongst the largest and most successful departments in our research area. The studentship competition is open to any Hong Kong graduate or mainland resident with a First Degree in an Arts subject or related subject from a Hong Kong University, intending to study for a full time taught MA in the School of Arts.

Charles Wallace Burma Trust Bursaries for Postgraduate Students in UK, 2011

Open to Burmese nationals to pursue postgraduate study in the UK at Masters or Doctoral level, and who need additional funding to help them cover the cost of their studies. The Trust helps Burmese nationals pursue postgraduate study and professional development in the UK. The Board of Trustees has the authority to use the income from the Trust’s funds for Burmese who are resident in Burma/Myanmar to enable them to ‘follow courses of study, research or other educational pursuits which will advance the education of the said individual’.

Postgraduate Student Bursaries are offered twice a year, in May and November, and awards are granted to individual students undertaking, or about to undertake, postgraduate courses in the UK at Masters or Doctoral level and who need additional funding to help them cover the cost of their studies.
