2011- 2012 PhD Studentships in Law at Kent Law School, UK

Kent Law School (KLS) invites applications for full time research studentships leading to the degree of PhD commencing in September 2011. Candidates will initially register for a full time MPhil research degree at the University of Kent at Canterbury. One of these studentships will be awarded specifically for research in the area of International Law and, although the recipient will be part of the Canterbury campus postgraduate community, the associated teaching responsibilities will take place at the University’s Medway campus. The funding will be available for one year in the first instance, extended (for registered students only) for a second year providing verifiable progress has been made (in teaching and research), and extended for a third year providing the candidate has upgraded from MPhil to PhD.
The successful applicants for the studentships will receive a maintenance grant equivalent to that offered by ESRC (£13,590 in 2010/11) and tuition fees paid at the home/EU rate (£3,950 in 2010/2011).Those awarded a studentship will normally be expected to teach a maximum of four hours per week in term time on an undergraduate English law module, at the direction of the Head of Department.  Some bursaries (for example, reducing overseas fee to home fee rate) may also be available.

Headstart Bursaries 2011 in Postgraduate Programme, King’s College London, UK

To be eligible, applicants must:  Be non-native speaking;  Have applied for a postgraduate research programme at King’s College London and received an offer, either conditional or unconditional. If the offer is conditional, students must find out from their department exactly what the condition is. NOTE: the award is offered on the condition that the student commences a PGR programme at King’s following the pre-sessional course; ~ Meet the English language entry requirements for the relevant pre-sessional course.‘FREE’ pre-sessional English language courses for postgraduate research applicants to King’s College London who complete with high achievements.

The Graduate School will reimburse the full pre-sessional tuition fees of up to 9 postgraduate research applicants to King’s College London who successfully complete either a 5 week, 8 week or 12 week pre-sessional English course at King’s College London. Fees will be reimbursed only to the top ranked 1-9 of eligible students, after completion of the course.

2011 King’s Alumni Bursaries at King’s College London in UK

Applicants must:  Be a King’s alumnus, which covers any student who has undertaken a degree/diploma/certificate/exchange programme (for no less than one semester); ~ Be due to commence a full-time or part-time postgraduate masters programme or MPhilStud programme at King’s College London during the 2011/12 academic year. Please note that: ~ Existing postgraduate masters/MPhilStud degree students are not eligible to apply.
The King’s College London Graduate School is offering up to 35 King’s Alumni Bursaries (KAB) to alumni (a graduate or former student of King’s College London) who intend to continue their studies by undertaking a Postgraduate Masters programme or MPhilStud programme at King’s College London commencing in the 2011/12 academic year. The KAB is available to any student who had undertaken a degree/diploma/certificate/exchange programme (for no less than one semester) at the College and wishes to pursue a, full-time or part-time, postgraduate masters programme or MPhilStud programme, at King’s College London.
