The University of Texas Children’s Art Project Scholarship 2011-2012, USA

This scholarship is offering to present/former pediatric patients of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The scholarships is provided as encouragement, reward and enablement for the students chosen.The scholarship is for one academic year with a requirement that at least 18 hours total are completed for the Fall and Spring semesters. Summers are not counted. Applicants must reapply for scholarship each year and may not receive assistance for more that a total of eight semesters (four years) of study.
The applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 24 for Undergraduate and 21-30 for Graduate. The applicant must be a patient or former patient (before his/her 19th birthday) of The University of Texas M D Anderson Cancer Center. Applicants must have been admitted or plan to study at a United States regionally accredited or International recognized institution for the fall semester.

2011Fulbright in Teaching/Research Scholarship Program, Côte d’Ivoire: American Literature, American Studies

Teach advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in American literature and civilization at the University of Cocody-Abidjan and the University of Bouake; the two schools currently share the same campus in Abidjan. Assist with student advising, provide tutorials and supervise master’s and doctoral-level theses. Participate in seminars related to American literature and civilization. Conduct research in area of specialization.

Scholars with a Ph.D. and three or more years of postdoctoral university or college teaching experience are preferred. Correspond with the host institution to determine whether specializations are of interest. Submitting a letter of invitation from the host institution with the application is recommended, but not required. The academic year is generally October to July. An English language school, the International Community School of Abidjan, is available for children in grades K-12 who accompany the scholar.

Phi Beta Kappa Association Graduate Scholarship 2011-2012, USA: Liberal Arts and Sciences

The Phoenix area Phi Beta Kappa Association carries out the mission of the national Phi Beta Kappa Society by Supporting local college students in the liberal arts with scholarships to Arizona State University and organizing attendance at events such as special art exhibits, campus tours, and social occasions.
The scholarship is announced to be Awarded to Inductee into the Arizona State University Beta Chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.To apply for this scholarship the applicant must be admitted to an accredited graduate program for the fall 2011 and Plan to enroll for at least nine semester hours in brick and mortar classes in fall 2011.The applicant should be a 2009 or 2010 initiate of the Beta of Arizona Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa and show a demonstrated financial need in the personal statement.The amount of award is $1,000 for the first year of graduate study in a regionally accredited university.
