NEWH Scholarship for Students Majoring in the Hospitality, Foodservice or Related fields, UK: Hotel/Restaurant Management, Culinary, Food,Service, Architecture, Design

Founded in 1984, NEWH is an international non-profit organization, with 19 chapters and many affiliated areas, which links professionals from every facet of the hospitality industry and related fields. To date, NEWH has given $2,200,000.00 USD in scholarships to young people wishing to pursue careers in the hospitality industry.One of the objectives of NEWH is to promote scholarship and education of and interest in the Hospitality Industry. To that end, each Chapter is tasked with fundraising to provide scholarships for young people wishing to enter the Hospitality Industry and related fields.
Scholarships are awarded annually, based on the financial ability of the Chapter to fund such scholarship awards. Scholarship types are the Community College, or their equivalents, and the Baccalaureate College and are for students majoring in the Hospitality, Foodservice or related fields.

University of Exeter ESF Scholarships: MA Climate Change, UK

ESF scholarships: MA The University of Exeter is offering a number of generous scholarships of up to £1,000 each for students beginning the MA Climate Change at our Cornwall Campus in October 2011. The awards are part funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and are only open to EU Nationals (resident in Cornwall during their studies). This innovative, interdisciplinary programme delivered by leading academics in the field of climate change is the first MA in the world to focus on the cultures, histories and theories of climate change research.
The programme offers you a wide-ranging and intensive introduction to the cultural politics of climate change research in the interdisciplinary area of human and physical geography. It aims to provide you with a theoretical and practical understanding of the fundamental issues involved in climate change research through the study of its histories, philosophies, geopolitics and futures.

Postdoctoral Researcher in Climate Science and Eco-hydrology, VU University, Netherlands

The Amsterdam Global Change Institute (AGCI) is a new institute at VU University Amsterdam which aims to encourage excellence and innovation in interdisciplinary research on the environment,
global change and sustainability . It brings together five existing institutes and departments across the three Faculties of Earth and Life Sciences, Economics and Social Sciences at the university. Six new post-doctoral positions are being created in the first phase of the institute to develop novel and promising lines of research. Postdocs will work together in interdisciplinary collaboration with senior scientists and scholars from across the AGCI.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in ecology, environmental or earth sciences with a background in research on biogeochemical processes and functional relations in ecosystems. Ideally, the candidate would combine knowledge on plant physiology with either earth sciences or ecology. In addition to a strong conceptual understanding, experience with the statistical analysis of large databases as commonly collected in relevant fields of research is essential. The specific research project to be conducted will depend on the interests and expertise of the successful applicant. However, the focus will be on linking plants traits to flux or hydrology data for application in global models.
