Research Fellowship 2011, Norway: Education

Research activity at the Faculty of Education is organised in research groups. Applicants for this position will be member of the research group Teacher Professionalism and Educational Change (TEPEC). Applicants are also advised to contact the leader of the research group (Professor Trond Eiliv Hauge (t.e.hauge@ils.uio.no) prior to sending in their application.

The applicant must prepare his/her project proposal so it is relevant for the research area. In the application the applicant must:

a) identify the research area within which the application is being made, and the relevance for the research group

b) indicate the branch of study within the doctoral programme they are applying for.

The doctoral dissertation should preferably be written as a collection of articles. As a general rule, the dissertation should be written in English. The submitted project proposal may be written in English or Norwegian.

Research Studentships in the School of Social Sciences, History and Philosophy, UK

Since the Highlights Foundation Scholarship Program was first established in 1988, more than 311 scholarships have been awarded to applicants who wish to attend the Foundation’s Annual Children’s Writers Workshop at Chautauqua, New York. These scholarships make the experience of Chautauqua possible for many individuals who might otherwise not have the opportunity or the resources to participate.

Individuals with a serious interest in writing for children and who have an established financial need are invited to apply. Scholarship applications are evaluated on an ongoing basis by the Highlights Foundation Scholarship Committee. Scholarships vary in the stipend awarded depending on an applicant’s requirements and the funds available. Funds for scholarships come from two sources: a Foundation Endowment Fund or scholarships that are funded annually by donors.

Research Assistant:Rangeland Ecology, DSIPS, Syria

To prepare experimental sites, field experiments, apply treatments, gather and analyze data under supervision.Main responsibilities
Assist in the establishment and maintenance of a herbarium and a field gene bank for native and exotic rangeland species.
Keep abreast of relevant scientific and technical literature and technologies.
Supervise on a day-to-day basis, junior regional staff and daily-paid laborers.
Prepare reports and other documentation, as requested.
Participate in training programs.
Perform other jobs assigned by the supervisor.
