Research Fellow in Computational Models of Language Acquisition and Processing, Australia

The appointees will work on projects funded by Macquarie University and/or the Australian Research Council involving the development of computational models of language acquisition and on-line sentence processing. The language acquisition research uses non-parametric Bayesian models, which the appointee will be responsible for extending and applying to new domains. The on-line sentence processing research involves the development of an incremental CCG parsing model and using it as a language model in a speech disfluency detection and correction system. The appointees duties include carrying out research and data analysis, developing and extending mathematical models of language acquisition and comprehension, system design and implementation, as well as interacting with our growing research team and collaborating with other group members.
