The Kit Faragher Memorial Scholarship for High School Students, USA

The Kit Faragher Memorial Scholarship was established by the Janus Foundation in 2002 to honor the memory of their valued employee, Kathleen “Kit” Faragher who lost her life in the tragic events of September 11, 2001. The Kit Faragher Foundation was created in 2003 to honor her memory and has continued to award this annual scholarship.
This scholarship supports Colorado high school students who have earned a high school GPA of 2.5, are in need of financial assistance for college, university, or technical school, and who capture Kit’s essence by demonstrating a positive attitude, strong commitment, and a drive towards accomplishment. Scholarship money may be used for tuition, books, lab fees, or other costs directly related to the degree program. The scholarship recipient will receive an award of $2,500 for two years, for a total of $5,000. The scholarship payments will be made directly to the school on the student’s behalf at the start of each semester/quarter for the first two years. In order to maintain the scholarship, the recipient must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA throughout the first two years of the educational program.

Vacation Scholarship Award 2011, Australia: Biomedical, social or applied research

If you wish to apply for a MSRA Vacation Scholarship first obtain a number from the Research Coordinator  ahead of the closing date. Please provide your name, application title and indicate separately if your application is in biomedical, social or applied research. The number will be emailed to you and must be used on your application and all correspondence. Please contact the latter if you wish to be advised of the MS researchers and the projects working in your locale. You must approach a researcher and obtain their agreement that you may complete your vacation scholarship work in their lab under their supervision and on their project. Please arrange for the supply of two (2) Referee Reports one of which must be the supervisor of the research you propose to undertake. The Referee reports are welcomed electronically but must be generated from the Referee’s email address and emailed directly to the MSRA Research Coordinator by the required closing date.

Please supply a detailed transcript of your academic results. This can be attached as a scanned document.Academic transcripts must be counter-signed, by reference to the original, by your supervisor. It is recognised that applications close before full year end results are available. The year end results will be requested before the scholarship is approved. You will be notified if these are required. Scholarships will be assessed during the MSRA Research Management Council grant round decisioning. All Vacation Scholarship applications must be submitted using this application form. Applications not submitted on this form will be ineligible for consideration. In terms of format, printing options must be set to single side and the font setting used should be Arial Narrow 11. Please delete this covering page before you submit your application. FE Transition Bursary in University of Edinburgh for Undergraduate Students 2011 in UK

These bursaries offer financial assistance to undergraduate students who enter university with HNC/HND.Further Education (FE) Transition Bursaries assist undergraduate students whose entry qualification may be a Higher National Diploma (HND) or Higher National Certificate (HNC) instead of Highers or A-levels.Students must be admitted to the first year of a full-time programme of study rather than entering second year directly.

In general, SAAS will not assist students with payment of university tuition fees in year 1, if the student has already received such assistance during studies.HNC/HNDFE Transition Bursaries are awarded to students with home fees status for payment of tuition fees only.Normally, students require an FE Transition Bursary for one year only as they are eligible for assistance with their tuition fees for their subsequent years of study.Students can still apply for a student loan through the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS).Students can seek advice on eligibility for a FE Transition Bursary from any of the EUSA Advice Place Offices.
