The RIBA Stephen Williams Scholarship in Architecture 2011

The RIBA Stephen Williams Scholarship, which was established in 2008, is offered in memory of Stephen Williams, a past Director of Aedas|. In 2011 the Scholarship provides £5,000 to support one student for a period of postgraduate studies lasting up to 12 months in the UK or abroad.

If the recipient of the Scholarship is to enrol in a School of Architecture in a country where Aedas has an office, Aedas ensures that a representative from said office is available to support and/or mentor the student. Applicants must have graduated from a Part 1 programme validated by the RIBA in the UK and be UK residents.Preference is given to applicants who are RIBA members. Employees of the RIBA, Aedas, trustees or members of the RIBA Education Trust Funds Committee are not be eligible to apply for the Scholarship.

Entente Cordiale Scholarships, UK

The Entente Cordiale Scholarship Scheme is a prestigious bi-lateral awards scheme that funds French postgraduate students who want to study in the UK, and British students who want to study in France. Funded by the private sector in both countries the scheme provides scholarships for about 20 French and British students each year.
The total value of an Entente Cordiale scholarship normally amounts to £10 000, regardless of the course or institution chosen. Scholarships are offered for study of any discipline, in any British university, provided it is for a postgraduate course. In addition, the scheme proposes a select number of branded scholarships, focussing on students in certain disciplines closely related to industry or particular professions.

International Bremen Peace Award 2011, Germany: Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation

In November 2011 the Threshold Foundation will award the International Bremen Peace Award for exemplary commitments to Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation for the fifth time.
With this award we want to honour people and organizations that set an example through their work contributing to reconciliation, human rights, overcoming of racism, preservation of Creation as well as to intercultural and inter-religious understanding.
Awards will be given in three categories to individuals or organizations during a public ceremony at the Bremen Town Hall. The awards are endowed with a total amount of 15000 Euros, i.e. 5000 Euros in each category.
